whats the difference between gonzo filming and features,why no scripts in gonzo,is there only scripts for feature...Foe example Zero Tolerance doesn't use scripts and Vivid does....Why is that and what is the difference in the way it is filmed....thanks....info appreciated

Gonzo is basically not scripted , and the cameraman is acknowledged by the performers during the scene. Sometimes the cameraman gets involved in the sex, for example Buttman, Seymore Butts, Jules Jordan.

Features are scripted , like regular mainstream films, with harcore sex scenes included.

Blue Lou basically nailed it in his reply, so the only thing I'll add is that if it weren't for gonzo, I'm not sure a lot of the regulars here at ADT would even watch American porn. We'd be forced to import all the Japanese and German stuff to get our fix of unscripted porn.

Maybe this is just my own opinion, but I literally can't even watch scripted porn with a plot anymore. It just seems ludicrous and beside the point. It's not the reason I watch porn. And if I want a plot and a script, I'd much rather watch mainstream movies anyway. (end of rant)

But with "gonzo", there is still something of a story line. It may not be scripted word for word, but there is a premise set up. Examples of setting the premise up can be seen on the Seymore Butts's Showtime TV series or in the Behind the Scenes features on his DVD's.

I don't think of stuff put out by Ana/Diabolic, Redlight, etc.. as Gonzo (although many people refer to it this way). Those movies are pretty much "all-sex" videos.

Yeah, to follow from Bill's point, the allusion was to gonzo journalism, where the writer actually made the events happen for his story and wrote about his experiences. The prime example in porn is Buttman where the cameraman/director's "experiences" make up the movie. There's still a story, albeit loose, maybe improvised, but essentially it seeks to create a scenario that's more than just performers A+B on couch purely for purposes of sex scene in pornographic movie.

Absolutely agree, Bill, all too many movies labelled as gonzo today are nothing of the sort.

Go to www.prvt.com and there should be a link there. We usually do not purchase scripts. If we like a concept, then we will hire a writer that we are experienced with to write it. Most porn scripts are only 16 to 17 pages though...not rocket science. As to how to get into the business, as talent you usually have to ride in with a girl, i.e. a hot young new female talent who everyone wants to shoot, but she will only do it with you...that is how many guys get started.
