Yes, I know there's a ton of adult stores in Houston, but all the ones that I've been to completely suck!!

I don't know what the problem with the stores here are. Actually, I do -- competition is so limited, they are able to get away with murder.

Here's a list of grievances:
1. New and popular DVDs typically sell for $40 sealed, and some stores actually sell old Jenna Jameson Wicked DVDs for $50.
2. Rental products are sold at the same price at new product (about $5 cheaper at best). What's annoying about that is you're still paying more (about $35) to get an unsealed, previously viewed DVD compared to what NEW SEALED DVDs go for online.
3. Selection is incredibly limited to only new titles so it's a "you snooze, you lose" policy that the stores take. If you're undecided about a video and don't buy it opening week, you've lost the opportunity to purchase it.

All I want is a store that offers the following:
1. Wide selection of (EA, RDL, A/D, Shane's World, Wicked)
2. Sealed products (like at Best Buy or Circuit City)
3. Reasonable prices (heck, even $5 to $8 over online prices are fine)

Is that too much to ask? What I really want is for ADE to start shipping to Texas again. I refuse to pay an arm and a leg to these B&M stores on sheer principle when there's a perfectly good online retailer that should have the willingness to ship me the product at half the price.

I can understand them being reluctant to ship to the back woods of Texas or Utah where rednecks or hicks or ultraconservatives live, but to tar an entire state with that stereotype is just plain wrong. To refuse to ship to a major metropolitan area (while the same product is available for rent in an actual store in the same zip code) is just plain ludicrous.

I've never seen a sealed adult dvd, at any adult video store.

The risk of shoplifting would be too great.

Have you tried Xrentdvd.com?

Im in Austin, and I get stuff from them all the time.
Usually after I purchase it online its here in two days flat.

I don't remember seeing anything on thier site about Houston so I would assume they could cover your area as well.

I think this covers Cyberchickens other thread too.

Give them a try.

At all the Lion's Dens and many of the stores around here they sell sealed DVD's inside these plastic anti-theft device things. They have pegs to attach to giant racks for browsing and they make the DVD larger to discourage theft.

Click on beautiful Taylor Rain for great porn reviews!
