Can somebody say if the Blu-ray porns are actually shot with a HD camera or are just up-converted from an orinary DVD.
Also, can somebody provide the NAMES of some Blu-ray porn titles that they have ACTUALLY WATCHED on their HDTV and think the video quality ( not plot or acting ) is SUPERB ( like a Blu-ray mainstream movie ).

Most adult content is shot with an HD camera even if only released on DVD. That way they can claim "Shot in HD" on the cover. The early Blu-Ray content was from a 1080i camera. Haven't checked recent videos.
We have a lot of people that rent from us prior to purchase their first BD. how great it is being able to see blades of grass on the golf course this doesn't always translate to pimples on a girls ass.

^that's only if she has pimples on her ass though, what if her ass is perfect and now you can see the skin in more vivid detail, sounds good to me, btw Xrent is my favorite rental source, I gotta show some love there.

Thanks. FROM which YEAR on did porn studios start shooting in HD. Basically trying to figure out how far back releases I can buy in Blu-ray that are TRUELY HD - and NOT some UPCONVEERTED HD.
OR is it that ALL porn Blu-ray that are in the market are TRUE HD - and NONE of them are UPCONVERTED HD.

The "Shot in HD" marker appeared on DVDs long before there where porn HDDVD or BD available. I'm guessing a lot of studios where waiting on the sidelines during the format war quietly amassing HD content.
Unfortunately some studios did try to upscale from 720i/1080i to 1080p with very poor results in the early days of BD. We did some test comparisons between a few of the early DVD vs. BD that came out. Sometimes the BD was better, sometimes the same, and sometimes worse (bad conversion). YMMV.
The only other thing that the early BD titles didn't have was all the extras like the DVD. Someone with recent experience would need to comment on if that is still the case. The BD menu process is a little more complicated.
True HD is supposed to mean 1080p at 60fps, but don't get too hung up on that. There can be much more difference in camera and camera work then you would ever see between 1080i vs. 1080p. Case in point, sporting events on TV are all 1080i and they look much better than a many mainstream 1080p BDs.

Avoid buying Blu-rays that dont say "Shot in HD" or "True HD".
From my experience, lot of these Blu-rays are nothing but BAD upconverted DVDs.
Right now, not all movie makers have HD cameras. Not all HD cameras are same either. It will take time before you can blindly assume that a Blu-ray title is shot with a GOOD HD camera.
Till then - be careful before buying Blu-rays.
