I think they probably will be. The VCX versions are both complete as far as I know, and I think Media Blasters is much less likely to release cut versions than VCX. The only problem I imagine would be if they had to get age verification for the whole cast because of the new laws, which would be a real shame now that a good company is finally starting to do this stuff. I think this info was just sent out in the last couple of days though, so it looks okay.

They still appear to be on as Davis DVD has the [invalid URL removed]announcements for the titles. I think the first XXX announcements I've ever seen there.

Yes, this is correct! After working on Media Blasters' two previous Cecil Howard discs, I was equally honored to be a part of THE DEVIL IN MISS JONES Special Edition.

I conducted a lengthy career retrospective interview with Georgina Spelvin in her lovely California home three weeks ago, covering all the bases from MISS JONES to GIRLS FOR RENT, from DESIRES WITHIN YOUNG GIRLS to POLICE ACADEMY. A week later, I moderated a commentary with Gerard Damiano in Florida. For his first commentary EVER, Damiano was worried that he wouldn't have enough to say, but once he got talking, the stories kept coming and these included plenty of tales of making MISS JONES, his beginnings in film, problems with distributors, and rare thoughts on a few of his other films like STORY OF JOANNA.

Some interesting extras in store for DEBBIE, and no, Bambi Woods is not available. Both DEVIL and DEBBIE will be taken from FILM elements, not the tired old video masters we've seen for years.

Now...what about the Cecil Howard library? That's a good question! I'm hoping that, at the very least, the collection will continue with PLATINUM PARADISE, FIRESTORM, STAR ANGEL, or SCOUNDRELS, or any of his 80s titles. But the fans need to let the company know there is still interest there and we want more Cecil Howard available!!

Any chance of any kind of commentary for Debbie?

Oh man, the Damiano commentary sounds cool. I hope they do more of these, including more of the Cecil Howard stuff too. I hope that everyone who reads this buys a copy. If you don't like it you can just rest your drink on it or use it for scratch paper or cut holes in it so it looks like you have a rotary phone. It can be of some use somehow.

Sounds like some great extras for the Devil in Miss Jones release. After the first two Cecil Howard releases I have huge expectations.

It is available now for pre-order at [invalid URL removed]CD Universe and Amazon (which also has a picture of the cover that looks simple but nice). Interestingly enough I found out that Amazon also sells the Arrow version of Deep Throat (through their Stallion Releasing name).

While checking out the DMJ link at CDUniverse I happened upon this disc, Insatiable Definitive DVD. Is this a new edition of Insatiable?

It's the same sub-label, Raincoat Theater, so it looks like it must be. That's great.
It looks like they're doing the movies with the most recognizable names, that seems like a good way to start.

Let's hope they get around to releasing something by Metzger, McCallum or DeRenzy.

Saw a whole hour documentary on "Debbie Does Dallas" on cable a couple of months ago. Can't remember the title, but it was great. Of course there is the sad doc. on Shauna Grant. E Hollywood story on Jenna Jameson and Ginger Lynn. A doc. on the recent aids scare. Should would like to see more on porno. This stuff should of been on the Playboy Channel but too busy playing games with the films. Censor films, don't censor films, partialy censor films. Hopefully when Hef keels over Christie will get the Playboy act together. I canceled by Playboy after one month.

Not so good news, it looks like both Debbie Does Dallas and DMJ have been pushed back to December 5th for their release date.

Well, classics are a niche market. Better they take the extra month or so, and do it right. One thing's for sure - whenever these do come out, good, bad, or indifferent, I'm there!

Some related news: Media Blasters/Raincoat has been nominated for two AVN Awards for Best Classic DVD Release for BABYLON PINK and NEON NIGHTS!

I will say this: I've seen all of the other nominated discs, and I believe all are from tape masters with no extras, including the Alpha Blue Zebedy Colt Triple Feature (why was this nominated??) and Arrow's (CUT??) "Anna Obsessed" disc (VCA's SHE'S SO FINE disc is good, though it's barebones). If MB doesn't win for either of their discs, which I helped out on, it will serve as proof that time and money spent on digitally remastering negatives and film prints, supplements for historical value, and licensing fees are not worth it if one can just slap a tape master on a disc and win an award.

Or perhaps it will simply prove that AVN awards are meaningless?

I saw DEBBIE and INSATIABLE check discs, and while I thought DEBBIE was unfortunately not definitive, it's the best the film has ever looked and I actually like the film a smidgen more than before. INSATIABLE features one of the best commentaries ever, by Marilyn Chambers, moderated by a woman so there are lots of stories and anecdotes between the two ladies that a man could never have provoked. The film is also uncut, with the Serena fisting, and there is rare footage of the premiere at the Hollywood Pussycat on disc 2.

I have yet to see how DEVIL looks yet, but I hope everything turned out well!!

It's not Media Blasters' fault, but the extras, much like the UK doc DEBBIE DOES DALLAS UNCOVERED, simply don't provide much backstory and insight into making this cheapie film. Both commentaries are interesting for different reasons, but Robin Byrd's is the better of the two. The best was done with what was available, so I guess it's as definitive as we'll ever get.

Fans of the movie will definitely love the transfer, though; it's bright and colorful, revealing that the film wasn't actually that badly made, and I found myself appreciating several of the sex scenes (particularly Merle Michaels in the library, Kasey Rodgers in the showers, and Georgette Saunders in the sauna) more than I had before.

The discs arrived last night I didn't get a chance to watch them through but I jumped through looking at the transfers. joplinfantasy is right, the transfer for Debbie Does Dallas is absolutely stunning and looks the best I've ever seen it anyone who has one of the other releases of this title would do well to update.
DMJ doesn't have as good a transfer as Debbie Does Dallas but it is still the best I've seen the film look and a massive improvement over the VCX disc. It's also presented in widescreen.

I just received it. Do you call fisting the 3-finger insertion scene culminating 16:32 minutes into the movie?

I never saw the theatrical release, can you confirm that this version is uncut? Excellent release anyway, I just hope this is the truly definitive one. According to IAFD, the running time is 80 minutes, this version is slightly shorter.

With movies this old, that have been released so many times in so many versions, I think it's pretty hard to determine -- to a certainty -- what the exact original/intended running-time was/should be.

All I can tell you, is that if we (IAFD) listed a running-time of "80 minutes," it was most-likely correct for whatever release the information came from.

Now, you tell me if "80 minutes" includes the opening and closing credits?
Or, did it come from the distributor who counts the phone-sex ads and trailers as part of the "total running time"?

FYI, I count the opening and closing credits when I determine length for entries I make to the IAFD

The I-Candy version is 76:44, opening credits to closing credits. 77:16 if you include the Insatiable II teaser after the credits.

The INSATIABLE transfer is taken from the thought-lost original negative, so is the complete uncut version. Sort of like how the negative to NEON NIGHTS turned up the fisting that was previously long unavailable.

where are you guys ordering these movies from?
I can't seem to find the INSATIABLE disc anywhere. It's not listed in adultdvdtalk's price search (only the i-candy version is there) and cduniverse has it backordered.
Anyone have any idea where I can find this?
The Media Blasters web site has nothing but Anime stuff, no online store. And I can't find a site for Raincoat Theater.

Lasersedge too (preordered it).

Son of dad, even though I sold my I-candy disc 6 months ago, i was under the impression that nothing new could be found in this new version ("just" a better print, top-notch audio commentaries etc...)
Correct me if I'm wrong.

All in all I repeat that it is the version to have.

Thanks for confirming it.

....still no fisting in sight

I'd be interested to know if anyone did see this in theatrical release? Maybe the fingering was the "fisting" that's been discussed over the years, perhaps not. Can anyone confirm?

Alright, I finally got to watch all of these. I had to send two of them back because when they arrived in the mail I opened them up to find that the disks had become loose inside the packaging and had been sliding around in there the whole time and were scratched up so that they wouldn't play. Now I've watched them and aside from the precariousness of the packaging I considered them to be superior to the previously available editions in every way, and an excellent addition to anyone's personal classic porn library.
The Devil In Miss Jones is one of my very favorite movies, but my old VCX version was divided into several tracks, so it's great to be able to watch it now all the way through without any apprehension of the unpleasant jarring breaks. It was enjoyable to watch it and then to kick back and watch it again at a later time with Gerard Damiano and joplinfantasy. I think it's a great film. I'll be ready for the next ones at any time.

I did see this at a drive-in in 1982. I distinctly remember the pool scene with Marilyn and Serena. This was one of the first adult films I saw and I remember thinking their scene was hot, but I don't recall a full fisting, just fingers.

It probably looks good because it was shot on film, like a lot of old porn was. Starting in the 80s they began shooting on video, and when those get transfered to DVD they look like shit.

I know this has been said several times in this thread but I'll repeat it again, Media Blasters did a great job on these three movies. It was a nice touch to have the covers based on the original theater posters.

Also, the pool scene in Insatiable is exactly the same as the I-Candy version.

So, what's next?
