After reading my review of Pirates, a fan rented it to introduce his girlfriend to porn, and she liked it! Now he wants another good movie to show her. I had a few ideas, but none felt right to me. What movies would you recommend for someone trying to get his neophyte girlfriend into porn?

I would go with Joe D'Amato stuff. Joe D'Amato For some reason it's not on the list but a movie called (variously depending on locale) Jungle Heat/Tarzan X/and probably other things is usually a winner. It is a good movie to introduce people (women/men/doesn't matter) because it shows actual chemistry between the performers. Many of the scenes are with Rocco and his future wife. You can tell they are into each other. (Sorry, her name escapes me, Rosa something). It is actually filmed with film so it looks really nice. And women who have borrowed it from me seem to be pleased with it. You can't go wrong with the Wicked Pictures features. I'm particularly fond of Stormy Daniels' Sleeping Around. It's a solid couples movie with a couple great performances from Stormy and Eva Angelina. Both girls have multiple scenes. There's also an awesome g/g with Sammie Rhodes and... *sniff*... the late Haley Paige. As long as you don't tell your girlfriend anything like "She's dead now" during the scene, you should be all right.
Part of it could be cute guys. A girl probably wouldn't go for interactive or POV titles. Even Johnny Darko, who I think is great, really focuses on the girls. But you're right; "Couples porn" is a code for "Less Hardcore Porn."

My Girlfriend Hates Rocco is the next in the series.
There's a girl at my favorite video store who has probably watched more porn than I have. (And I had a 15-year headstart on her.) She loves Belladonna, and generally likes really hardcore stuff including Rocco. Still, I wouldn't use Rocco to introduce someone to porn.

Word on the street is, lesbian porn is less offensive to women than B/G porn; moreover, I've read articles where women suggest "tasteful" porn (that included hardcore) but with a chick less attractive than your girlfriend/sister/mom, whoever you're trying to cross over to the dark side. When introducing a girl to porn...its occasionally useful to intersperse porn movies with hard-R movies and mid 70's/80's sexploitation films like: Caged Heat Deadly Weapons Faster Pussycat, Kill! Kill! Auntie Lee's Meat Pies Dr. Caligari (Rinse Dream did this...not related to the art flick) Just to show that there's a history there and a natural progression. Some horror movies work too.

Some of the 70s/80s 'classic' couples features are a good intro for girlfriend's because they have better storylines, a bit more breathing room for women characters and desires and less circus act sex. Insatiable and The Opening of Misty Beethoven are good places to start. For gonzo stuff, I would suggest an individual scene where the girl is obviously enjoying herself, lot of pussy-eating and mutual pleasure.
Personally I find the porn directed by Marc Dorcel to feature such gorgeous women in gorgeous French locations that many women would accept it as lovely eye candy, to say the least. And the sex does not get overly nasty or abusive, if they are turned off by that.
If you think she could take watching a g-g movie, you couldn't go far wrong with a Viv Thomas video like Office Girls or one of the Pink Velvets. As Kensington Chapp says she might find g-g stuff less offensive as it's often more sensuous. Maybe you should leave one for her to find and then you can show her that it's not completely degrading to women :-)
Which horror movies? Only ones I can think of with lots of sex are the ones where you know they are going to be killed for having sex (Friday the 13th, My Bloody Valentine, etc).
