| Cloudburst Deactivated User 392 Posts 1/14 | For some reason Google's layout has reverted back to the old crappy look from 2013. I cleaned cookies/cache and restarted PC but that didn't help. Any idea why this would happen and how I can go back to the current layout? Is anyone else having this issue? It happened yesterday (May 2) and my browser is SRWare Iron, which is a light version of Chrome. My current layout looks like this, with the black bar across the top of page: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2012/01/googles-black-navigation-bar-is-back.html Here is the layout I want to go back to: http://i2.wp.com/www.techfleece.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/New-Google-Home-Page.jpg I hate this layout, especially since Google Images come in all crappy now where the gifs and jpegs are tiny. Any help/advice is appreciated. Edited by - Cloudburst on May 3 2014 [Link] |

I experimented and if you change the ending to ?noj=2 you will get the white bar For my computer just using www.google.com gets me the white bar. Anyway I suggest you experiment until you get it how you want, then set that as your homepage or however you have your default search setup. |
| Cloudburst Deactivated User 392 Posts 1/14 | This is so frustrating, from October 2013 (when I believe Google removed the black bar look) until last week I had no black bar. Now all of a sudden it's back (w/o me changing any settings) and I can't make it go away, why does this even happen? My friends and parents use Chrome also and they don't have the black bar, but I have it and I can't even fucking change it back. |

| Cloudburst Deactivated User 392 Posts 1/14 | The thing is I don't want to just remove the black bar at the top of the page, I want to go back to the Google layout that has different features. Here is the layout I'm trying to get back to: http://i2.wp.com/www.techfleece.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/New-Google-Home-Page.jpg (notice that the black bar is gone but also at the top right there are different features) |

Also, you said your friends/parents are using Chrome and are getting the desired version of GoogleSearch. If exactly Chrome works (and if you must use Iron), then try tinkering with the User-Agent in Iron, so that Iron appears (to your visited websites) as whatever Chrome Version is necessary to make GoogleSearch behave properly. |

P.S. thanks to Nietzsche and Robert for the recommendations, will look into those forums if I still can't get the problem solved. Edited by - Cloudburst on 5/15/2014 6:22:46 PM |
