Does anyone have any idea how to get the "cached" button back to where it used to be? It's driving me nuts. I use the hell out of it and I'm tired of having to go into that stupid popup to get to it.

If you move your mouse or trackpad to the right, get the ">>" sign to appear then when a preview appears on the right hand side, click on "cached", is it what you're doing?
I'm using Safari but I think it's the same with Firefox.

I think I learned something today! I was wondering about the cached link too.
Edit: I see it! I never ever saw that >> before. And usually I catch on quick. Observant and all that.

It is but it doesn't highlight the words anymore either now.

Yeah. I know but I hate it like that. I don't know why they changed it. I use it so often it's a PITA to have to go through that each and every time. It was perfect where it was.

^Google (and other top-tier tech companies) believe they have to constantly "innovate", which often takes the form of changing stuff just for the sake of changing stuff.

Well, Google has shown that they are more than capable of actual innovation so moving a link that doesn't need to be moved just for the sake of saying they're innovating doesn't cut it.
That's to say I think they have a reason that goes beyond that. Just what it may be, I have no idea. I thought someone else might. But I know a lot of people are complaining about this and Google is just plain ignoring them.

Well I'm biased. Google was cool with me until they abandoned their "neat and clean" look in favor of that panel on the left and the transformation into a portal to tie in a bunch of other google products (youtube, gmail, googledocs, etc.) into the search page. I guess that could count as actual innovation if you are a user of all those products. But if you want a searchpage to just do search in a no-nonsense way, then all that extra stuff is just ugly clutter and fluff and slows things down.

I sort of agree but the "cached" link was the one I always used the most so I was still pretty happy as long as they didn't change it significantly.
Habit is the only reason I still use Google now.

Also very annoying is that they moved the advanced search to the bottom of the page.

Has anyone found a simple solution for this? Maybe a FF add on or something? It annoys the hell out of me. That was a very useful feature.
