The reason I ask (being 32 myself) is because I sometimes wonder whether my interest in porn will diminish further as I become older (it certainly has done to some extent as I've aged so far) and also whether I (and others) eventually reach a certain age where such an interest is lost altogether. It would be most interesting to hear from anyone who might have some thoughts on the issue (especially anyone who is in their 60s/70s/80s and who has an active interest in porn and - forgive me if I'm crude here - masturbation. Maybe it's the case that there is no hard and fast rule. Maybe those of us who are interested in porn will lose interest in it at different ages, whilst some of us who live to a ripe old age might continue with our interest in it right until the end. Who knows? It would still be interesting though to hear from anyone who might be prepared to comment from individual experience. [Link] |

But this is a subject for another thread. |

There are also plenty of the 'younger crowd' that are turned off or disgusted by it. Age is not the deciding factor, but attitude and mind set is. In America at least, most regular hardcore theater patrons during the 1970's seemed to be in the 30-65 range--younger guys tended to stick to the magazines like Penthouse, Gallery, and Hustler. In the 1980's, the video market was very expensive (60-80 bucks per tape), which precluded a broader audience somewhat. Now I think the 18-30 crowd watches as much or more porn than ever before--which might explain some of the themes and attitudes we see in a lot of the product. I wonder if some of the older men on the board here who remember the adult theater scene back in the '70's would chime in on this? |

I always liked porn whether or not I was involved w/ someone. It adds a tremendous amount of variety that is difficult to access otherwise. Dabbled in swinging when younger and enjoyed that too, but it's much easier to find a gorgeous chick doing bukkake on video than in real life. Also, nobody ever caught an STD from a DVD. |
