Perhaps the most important clue is the number of companies that seem to be hiring guys to exclusive contracts. Keeping all the best for themselves, as it may be. I know specifically of a HUGE company that cancelled a shoot last week because they could not get a guy. Is male turnover as fast as girl? With the exception of a select few, I see very few new MALE faces in the biz, and those I rarely see again. Steve Holmes mentioned in another thread that his role as a producer would be easier if he had more reliable guys to pick from. Without mentioning names, I am most curious to hear LA's best perspectives and stories about good guys and bad... and what made them such. The porn scene in New York is a joke, and it just seems that the producers here are so worried about getting a hot girl to do dp for $600 that they will use any idiot as male talent. Of course, there are exceptions, but do I need to say more? Stick Teagan in a scene with mr. softie and you know what you got? NOTHING. Even with TEAGAN!! I have been lucky enough to have a big producer offer me a shot in LA, and I am not worried at all about succeeding. However, it does interest me to know how to be better and market myself effectively. You can improve in ANYTHING, and that is what pushes me to hear what everyone (who really knows what is cookin') has to say Make my next (and last) 60 days in New York go quickly so I can get to LA!!!!!! dood

| TonyC Comstock Films 2523 Posts 8/03 | Posted - Sep 2 2004 : 8:29AM When you shoot love-scene in a "ligit" movie, you don't have a bunch of hangers-on wondering around set making rabbit ears, but if BTS footage is any indication, this is common practice in porn. I'd bet there are a dozen other, easily eliminatable distractions you could get rid of if you wanted to make a porn set more condusive to romance, or a least a good, lusty romp. -T.C.  [Link] |
