Gentleman Jon All-Star Member 1881 Posts 6/05	Posted - Jan 8 2006 : 1:45AM A Gypsy is a member of an ethnic group called the Roma (the name has nothing to do with Rome or Romania) that moved from Northern India and the Iranain Plateau into Europe in the Middle Ages. They have very tight social control within the group based on their traditions, so they are not all free and easy. They do tend to have a nomadic lifestyle, and avoid integrating into the mainstream society of whatever country they happen to be living in. In fact, they are guarded with outsiders, period. They have met much discrimination over the centuries, but in their case it is at least partly justified, because at least some clans of them have treated the traditions, and more importantly, the laws, of the countries they inhabit with disregard bordering on contempt. Also, according to their traditions, they will marry off their daughters when the daughters are still below the legal age of consent in the countries they are living in. Many may be modernizing and even integrating a little, now that it is the 21st century, but when I went to Europe on a tour arranged by one of my college professors, a man quite free of racism, sexism, and homophobia, he warned us that if we saw any in the streets or on the subway, we were not to talk to them. There were 3 attempts to pick our pockets or snatch our purses while were riding the Paris Metro, one of them successful, and we were pretty sure that it was gypsies that did it. A few months ago, I think I read in another thread on this forum that it is possible that girls who actually have Roma blood may be reluctant to publicly disclose that fact due to the negative connotations associated with gypsies. I always thought she was Hispanic, based on the name. Alot of the Eastern European women have beautiful dark look and I've assumed they are Romany or they have Mediterranean blood. Look at Isabella (an old example) and Anetta Keys (a new example). Anetta Keys, who is Czech, has beautiful dark skin -- what is her ethnic background? [Link]

She discusses it at some length in her blog. She doesn't seem to care much for the term "gypsy," which is an extremely derogatory word in some contexts (and more often than not, simply misused by people ignorant of the history of the Roma). I've encountered a few Lena Ramon scenes over the years and haven't quite figured out what about her attracts me. Probably her very pale look and the fact that I prefer female performers who are late 20s and into the thirties. She also seems to excel at girl/girl scenes, which I watch alot of.
