I know this is going against popular opinion on this board but I still believe this is a hoax. Why is this so easy most of you to believe this. Everyone is reacting to Haley's "possible" death based on what exactly??, a wikipedia page, a photo shopped portrait of Haley on a Casket and because Lukeisback.com (well known for his lack of investigative journalism) "said so" with little or no follow up??? Even though she may be considered a 2nd/3rd tier porn chick the mainstream media would have picked up on this. "Young beautiful girl,abused by her uncle, allegedly gang raped at school, Held against her will in Australia or New Zealand, comes back to the US and porn director Del Toro marries her for a green card, meets another porn director Chico Wang etc. On top of all this being addicted to pain killers/heroin and being a beautiful,innocent/trusting,down to earth person". All this would have been would have made a "good story" by main stream press even if it was on page 10. All I am saying is to look at the facts presented and apply some logic and common sense that's all...

Well I believe someone from FOX Magazine has already been in contact with the coroner if you had looked at some of the other posts. Plus with another site linking the marrage certificate of Wang and Paige (of course under they're real names) thiss does all kinda check out. To be honest - I REALLY wish it was a hoax and she was fine, but all the stories/facts seem to all point to her passing away. Haley Paige - Sadly missed. BrekkyDJ.

Its not a hoax, AVN wouldn't run if it was. I would like to say this, it is interesting how porn, especially hard gonzo porn operates in kind of a parallel universe. You would think something like this would make into mainstream news but is hasn't. And, recent obscenity cases also have not made mainstream. I think that porn is still underground in dome ways, other then big Stars like Jenna, who everyone knows. If porn was more mainstream and more corporate talent would be treated better. Not saying I want it to be real corporate, but....
I agree, the industry is made up of crooks and shady people, and only a handful of honest companies remain. Something has to change.

I love "Deep Throat", it is a classic. But, many considered it to be degrading to women and Linda Lovelace says she was forced into it. That movie would be considered so tame compared to the Gonzo being put out. Look at some of the JM Production films where the girl's admit they are hating it and the director keeps the scene going. I am not saying all porn is this way, in fact a lot is not. But, the industry needs to weed out some of these rouge actors or a backlash will eventually come to head.
I am curious what those here in the industry opinion of Chico Wang is. Does anyone here, based on first hand experience with him, believe him actually capable of murder, whether it be first degree, second or third? And what was it about Haley that attracted her to a guy like that, when I'm sure she could have had at least a semi-decent guy to treat her well, even WITHIN the industry? I'm just an avid consumer of porn, not in this business, but all the interviews I've seen her in only reinforce the sadness I feel about it. One of the very very few people I've seen from the outside looking in that I actually wish I had KNOWN (this is not meant to be a knock on anyone else).

I think it is clear Chico had many demons, and sometimes they led him to act violently (look at his previous conviction and the pistol whipping charges.) When watching his videos he tried to be funny but this humor is a false faced for a tortured soul. I am not saying he killed her, no proof so far to support this. However, their is more to her death then just "well, she died" every young death has a story.
I know it is pointless to speculate, but it is human, so... Who knows, perhaps he actually did try to get her off of whatever substance she was abusing (when he is an alcoholic himself ironically), and maybe he caught her abusing despite all the financial help he had given her. From what I've read he supposedly financially supported her for awhile, during her supposed 'retirement' from porn. Then again maybe he saw a very vulnerable person to take advantage of after that Del Toro thing, and figured he had a trusting and giving person he could make do what he wanted, especially in such emotional turmoil as she likely was. Maybe he caught her cheating on him. It could have been one of those 'crimes of passion' things. But when the words 'pistol whipping' get brought into the lexicon, all the previous speculation just gets washed away, and those supposed 'demons' of his, should have turned and done HIM in, and not her. I think I may have just answered my own question, too, as to how she could have gotten involved with a guy like Wang. I figure we'll at least know the cause of death within two weeks. And as to mainstream press picking up on it. I have a feeling this one might make a profile human interest story eventually ala 20/20 or Dateline within a year or two. Her personality begs for it.

I think this should get some mainstream coverage. She was used and abused, most notably by two creepshows, Del Toro and Chico. It is too early to implicate him in her murder due to lack of evidence, but we can definitely speculate. I hope this story gets the coverage it deserves by the adult media press and maybe by the press in general.
I do know that if I don't see coverage of it anywhere eventually, I'm going to use whatever writing prowess I possess and feed news outlets good summations of the tragedy.

The last thing I want to see is "mainstream coverage." They won't get a single fucking thing correct. And, they will only use it as a "show-porn-tits-and-ass-during-sweeps-week-while-putting-the-industry-through-the-knee-jerk-moralizing-meat-grinder-while-rounding-up-the-usual-suspects" piece. Let the police do their jobs and solve the death (crime?). Let those of us in and around the industry, fans, friends and family -- who all loved Haley -- mourn for her and keep her in our hearts.

I think mainstream coverage would be good because reporters would have the power and money to figure out what the fuck really happened. Obviously the Adult industry press has utterly failed at that.
Oh, it'll get mainstream coverage alright (especially if it can be proven that anyone even remotely associated with the industry had anything to do with her death). But it will get the kind of coverage a porn fan always dreads because in the eyes of the media and the general public, it won't be a case of a young porn star getting involved with some bad apples in the industry. It'll be "just another case of an industry that systematically destroys young women with obvious relish. One more case of why these women are too stupid to think for themselves".

No, I think it is a sad story deserving of meadia attention, regardless of the fact that it is dealing with porn. I think Chico's actions ARE representative of much of the industry, especially the realm of so called directors that shoot on handycams.
Like I said, I'm sure it'll get some of the attention you seem to want it to get. Whatever. You've got a lot to learn about how the media (and a lot of other people) uses a story like this. I was just thinking before coming into work today (and Charlie from FOX magazine might have a better idea/lead)... Could have Maryam/Haley died from a disease (Cancer, etc...)? The reason behind this thought is the following... 1) She Married Chico 3 weeks before her death 2) Her Parents found out about her Porn History just weeks before her death 3) She died in the city of her father 4) She died in the company of her Husband, Chico In a way that does sound like a story of someone who knew she was dying and wanted to make piece with her family. It's a far stretched theory when you throw in some other stories - but since the coroner said she did not die of an overdose - this does look like a possibilty. BrekkyDJ.
Whatever the case may be, it's still kind of premature to cast blame. It hasn't even been ruled a homicide as far as I know. People can die from all sorts of things.

I never casted blame I just speculated. The theory of disease makes a lot of sense. That would explain why it wasn't an OD and would explain why she came clean with her parents.
I remember reading it on some forum... I maybe wrong... I'll see if I have time at work this morning to search for that info again, but I could have sworn it was at least in his home state. BrekkyDJ.

in june chico wang kidnapped and beated her. I suspect in august he killed Maryam Haley. I don't like that guy, I read in the past he had been in jail for beating women. He is a shit.
I haven't seen anywhere where it was stated that it wasn't an overdose. The Coroner's office said no track marks. Big deal. There are lots of ways to overdose. Any toxicology results yet? And who said Chico was at her side when she died?
OK, with the help of some resources at lukeisback.com this is where I have some of my info... First on the assumption that it most likely was NOT an OD. ***Charlie at Fox Magazine posts on XPT: "I just spoke to the Coroner's Office in Monterey County, CA. Maryam I. Haley died on 8/22/07. The investigation is ongoing. I was told that this is NOT an overdose death." And the assumption that she died in the company of Chico Wang. ***On Bastardly.com - Ken Haley posts Sept. 16: "Haley Paige passed from this life on August 21, 2007. In the company of Chico Wang. Who ya gonna blame?" On other site, 3 posters launched their own "investigation" back in late September to get to the bottom of this. Though some things don't look right... or at least strange (including the alledged father posting on Bastardly.com) most things so far have checked out when cross-examined. The only thing at the moment that seems to be an outstanding issue is cause of death... which of course there are various theories - one of mine, as mentioned is a disease related death. (Update) I have just thought about a possible disease that could have caused the death - Liver Disease. It's the same disease her uncle died of (according to her father). Could that be genectic? Plus with the painkillers she was addicted to previously, could that have weakend her immune system, thus a rapid decline in health when it did strike? I'm no medical expert, but maybe someone else here is and they could give an opinion? (Another Update) I'm curious.... An interview (Maryam) Haley Paige did with Scott Fayner in 2006 has her saying... "My older brother is currently in Corcoran prison." Actually 3SB - some is speculation, some are facts - the facts have been CROSS-CHECKED. Not just forum posts - Forum posts are the tip off point for the interest factor, a little research in the right places can reveal the facts. I'm no Journo... well Okay a Sports Journo in a previous job, but I just raise the questions. The story of Mike (former friend/flame whatever) and Ken (father) of Maryam/Haley posting at times on a forum seemed false... but cross checking with timelines and some of Maryam details (Passport, Travel Logs, etc...) things added up to them being the real deal. May I say Charlie at FOX is the one who has done most of the leg work here, I was just double checking, as if it was a hoax there has to be a slip up somewhere.
