The man, the myth, the legend: the only 5x AVN Male performer of the Year Manuel Ferrara. Many will call me crazy, but I was actually looking forward to meeting him as much as I was meeting all the beautiful girls. Whether you like him or hate him, no one can deny he is the best male performer of the 21st century. Every girl I've talked, when I mention Manuel Ferrara, they rave about how amazing of a performer he is and how much they love working with him. Even girls that have not work with him yet always list him as a male talent they want to work with in the future.
When I arrived at the Spiegler girl booth to interview Rachael Madori, I found MimeFreak was there hanging out. As I was doing my interview with Rachael I glanced to my left and saw Manuel standing there talking to MimeFreak. The Spiegler Girl booth was the very first booth inside the Joint, so Manuel was literally five steps from the exit. I had missed him once all ready on Wednesday and didn't want this opportunity to slip away. If you listen to my interview with Rachael Madori, towards the end you can hear me ask MimeFreak to hold Manuel for me while I finish interviewing Rachel.
When I approached Manuel and introduced myself, he seemed part surprised and part flattered that I wanted to interview him. Male performers are usually ignored by fans at conventions, especially male fans. At most they get a few female fans of theirs who want to meet them and take a photo with them. As we talked, I was amazed at just how incredibly humble he is. He seemed almost embarrassed when I mentioned how he's the only 5x AVN Male POTY or how the girls rave about working with him. It's ironic because if any man on earth should have an ego the size of Mt. Everest, it's Manuel Ferrara, but he's the complete opposite. Probably one of the must humble, down to earth guys I've ever met.
Manuel just turned 40 years-old last November and has been in the business for 19 years now with no signs of slowing down. When I asked how long he planned to stay in the industry, he said he'll probably always be involved as a director. As performer, he said as soon as the girls no longer find him attractive or want to work with him, that will be the day he's had enough. I assured him the girls are still VERY happy to work with him.
He's been working with HoloGirls Films, the company developing the fastest generation of virtual reality porn. Manuel admits he was very skeptical, but when he saw what they shot he was very impressed. I tried the VR visor myself and it was quite impressive. You really do feel like your in the middle of the room with the people as they having sex all around you. He also mentioned that he and Kayden Kross shot Brett Rossi in her first scenes back for TrenchcoatX.com. He said that she did a B/G with him and a B/B/G with Charles Dera & Tommy Gunn.
Speaking of Kayden Kross, she was the subject Manuel was the most relaxed and excited to talk about. You could tell by the way he spoke about her and seeing the look in his eye, just how madly in love with her he is. Manuel added that when he and Kayden work together, she gives him so much energy and he enjoys working so much more when she's there with him. When I asked him what awards he was nominated for, he admitted he doesn't check the nominations and that he really only cares about winning an award with Kayden for the projects they've done together. She's the love of his life and what makes her happy, makes him happy.
When I asked Manuel about him and Kayden doing some threesome scenes with another girl, he replied that he doesn't feel comfortable doing those type of scenes. Ironically, Kayden is completely fine with having a B/G/G with Manuel and another girl. In fact she tried to get him to do one with her and Jesse Jane, but he wasn't comfortable with it. He admits they may do a B/G/G down the road, but he needs some more time. His worry is that in the middle of the scene he might say something or do something that will upset Kayden and he wants to avoid that at all costs.
In addition to his work at Evil Angel, he has begun directing movies for Jules Jordan and even shot some movies for Hard X/Mile High. He said he's got some other surprises lined up for 2016 that he couldn't talk about yet. 2015 was an extremely busy year for Manuel and 2016 looks to be just as, if not even more busy.
Overall, a great meeting with Manuel Ferrara. Just a humble, nice guy that was great to to talk to. He's the adult male performer version of Michale Jordan or Babe Ruth. His life is one that most guys only dream and he knows it. He greatly appreciates all he is blessed with.
