I'm pretty new to gay porn, although I enjoy it, I still find myself renting straight flicks because alot of the gay porn is not as hardcore as my liking. I'm sure many of you are familiar with Max Hardcore and Brandon Iron, is there any studio out there that makes gay porn like this?
Barebackcity did, but that was more for the leather crowd.

Welcome. Oh, there’s tons of hardcore stuff out there in the gay porn world. It’s just a matter of knowing where to look. I’m sure there are a bunch of folks who read this particular message board who would be more than willing to help. However, I, at least, am not familiar with Brandon Iron or Max Hardcore. If you can be as specific as possible and describe exactly what you’re interested in, I’ll gin up suggestions as, no doubt, will others. I’m not sure if the following also goes on in straight porn, not being a fan myself, but.....One thing you might not be aware of in looking for specific kinds of gay porn, especially if you’re renting, is this: For DVDs with certain types of scenes, studios will offer a general release version minus those scenes, which is the version that shows up at most rental locations and for sale. The hardcore version is then usually available only directly from the studio or selected sales spots (like often TLA video).

Here’s the language TLA uses for its general release versions it sells:

"While not overly noticeable, this video contains a slightly edited sequence involving either extreme buttplay, fisting, oversized toys or watersports. At the present time, the uncensored version is available only from the studio directly, and at a higher price."

Whether the additional scenes are worth the additional cost is a personal judgment. However, you can take TLA’s language, “slightly edited sequence” with a grain of salt. Some studios attempt to seamlessly edit out the hardcore scenes. Exactly how seamlessly varies. But Falcon has this occasional nasty habit of putting a big grey rectangle right over a third of the screen (the most interesting third, of course) that says something to the effect: CENSORED!!! Available By Mail Order Only. (Beside the point—but it’s another reason why I feel Falcon, among others, is exploitative of gay folks.)

You also mentioned something about barebackcity. As in barebacking videos? Hot Desert Knights and Treasure Island studios are two that do that sort of thing. It is popular but just in case you aren’t aware, it is also a fairly controversial topic in the gay community and can generate some heated comments.
