It won the 1998 AVN Best Video award. Not that that guarantees anything, but it's sure a good sign.
Also a good sign is that it's directed by John Stagliano, rather than Rocco. But has Rocco in it.
Purportedly it is a journey all through the nightlife of the seemier side of the twin city Budapest -- which is located on the Buda side of the Danube. In addition to having a lot of hardcore action.
I'm real interested in seeing it myself.
I suspect there is quite a bit of fast forward material if you want it as a pure raincoater. I also think there's a good chance that I for one will really like it.

The sex is VERY good, but the "story" part is totally fast-forwardable. There's a murder scene SO embarassing to the point of being unwatchable. It last for, what?, two minutes, but it's enough to make you shudder. Just like the operation scene from Rocco Never Dies .
But as a movie to spank the monkey, I would give it an 8,5 out of 10. In the past I would rate it higher, but now all of Rocco's performances bores the hell outta me. I used to like him better when his ego wasn't bigger than his penis.
What I'm hoping among other things is that they deal with real "amateur"girls -- at porno making that is. But who are relatively new/fresh call girls or street walkers or both. And maybe get a porn start here. That sort of thing.
(As opposed to the usual Buttman gambit of ringing up talent agents for the local strip club talent. Which is also cool but by now well worn.)
Some good sex, but the acting etc are no great shakes. I thought Euro Hardball 1 was a better depiction of life on the sleazy side. I though it was a little overlong, but overall good stuff.
As to the girls, they come from the crop of Hungarian talent that was widely featured in other Evil Angel releases of the period - eg Judith Grant, Reka, Szylvia etc. I can't say there are NO amateurs in there, but mainly familiar faces.
I am interested in Planet Sex's comment about Rocco and ego. When was Rocco NOT egotistic? Maybe way back in early Buttman or some Magma stuff when he was learning the ropes, but he's been a big "personality" for a long time.
Can you think of a good title set in Eastern Europe which DOES use a lot of amateurs or first timers, whether they are hookers/call girls or not?
Buttman's Montreal title uses just about ALL amateurs, other than the internet live scene. One of the girls (the blonde in the first scene then went on to do some 15 vidoes or so, but that was her first. And all the others either did NO additional videos, or only one more. Yet they were all doing anal, and many DP's. FUN, FUN, FUN!
Most were local stippers I think, although only one was identified as that. I think the first blonde's bi girlfriend probably really was a full time student, as she said.
Rocco's ego has always been big and that's one reason why I don't like his movies very much. Yes, he has a big d*ck and his sex is intense & hard but it gets very boring after a while and some of the girls in his movies are not very attractive (except Sylvia Saint, Sabina, and a few others).
Now as far as Christopher Clark, I haven't seen his movies but judging by artwork covers of his movies and few reviews, he may be unique! But, judging by artwork covers and the sexy girls in the movies, John Leslie should be better. I plan on seeing his Fresh Meat 10 & Fresh Meat 11 soon! They seem like excellent movies and there are some sexy females in those movies (Sheila Scott, Adriana Sage, Monica, Barbara Flores, etc...) Judging by the artwork, The Lecher seems good, too, but I would like to hear more about that title!
I do plan on seeing 'BUDA' very soon, as well. It sounds good, looks good (I have seen clips & judging by the artwork). I also plan on seeing 'Roccos Ravishes Prague 3' but I am not rushing to see it. My main reasons for wanting to see that is for some of the females (especially Sabina) and the intense anal sex.
I don't like seeing the same sh*t over again in movies (whether it's porn, mainstream or HK movies). Some of Rocco's films are the same and some have the same theme (Guns, Heroes, Anal Sex & sometimes bondage)! John 'Buttman' Stagliano doesn't even repeat himself like that. Yes, Buttman's movies are about sexy ass females with nice asses but his style isn't the same. Buttman does anal sex, anal play, face dancing, dancing, sometimes orgies, 'rolling cheeks', etc... He also knows how to dress his girls up and make them look very sexy on film before they get naked and get their asses intruded! I also like the way the girls show off their asses in his films (the camera angles, the motions of the females' bodies, etc...) Sometimes, Buttman does scenes in nightclub (but after a while, that got boring). I also like Joey Silvera. His camera angles/directions are very nice but his films aren't as good as Buttman's movies. There are only FEW movies by Buttman that I loathed (Big Butt Backdoor Babes, Buttman Confidential and I do not care for Nudes A Poppin' & Rio Carnival Parties, etc... Also, some Buttman movies are only good for maybe 1-3 scenes like Buttman's Anal Divas & Rio Carnival Orgy)!
But when it comes to XXX movies, the best sh*t is done by Evil Angel, Elegant Angel, Anabolic/Diabolic, Rosebud & WCP. I do expect most movies by those companies to be great (especially Evil Angel).

Right, I see where you are coming from. Generally speaking, I guess that a lot of the material shot in Eastern Europe does show amateur girls, in as much as a fair number don't make a career out of it, making only a few appearances. So in that sense, it's possible that some of the girls in Buda could be amateurs, as indeed they could be in any East Europe-originated Anabolic or Evil Angel release. The majority tend to crop up in enough movies to be considered porn pros, but there are always those girls who make a couple of movies and then disappear from the scene (which I think is no bad thing at times!)
They do tend to play around with the hooker theme too in Euro Angels or Hardball on occasion.
However, I wouldn't want to mis-inform you on this, so I'd suggest the only series which I can think of (but I have not personally seen it) that puports to use new girls is Private's Woodman Castings. It goes as far as to claim that girls are losing their virginity on camera, but a good shovelful of salt should be taken with that, I suspect. I don't think Woodman Castings are on DVD however.
However, I guess, like Tricia says, these girls are mainly coming through model rather than escort agencies!
