Yes porn has really been sucking lately. I thought we were going to get a new revolution of DP porn in America a few years back with Evil Angel, Diabolic and several other labels spinning out great series such as Penetrations and World sex tours which featured american stars double banging delicious european beauties ........ no such luck I hope someone will get on the ball and start signing up delicious American babes for dp porn. They are out there waiting to get signed up and dped, these lame producers just need to get on the ball.
In terms of the variety of content, things have never been better due to the endless # of websites catering to every niche. Quality of female talent took off with the introduction of the vcr and the money that followed in the 1980's. Check out an old Svetlana directed movie from that era for proof. However as the cash flow has slipped in the last few years, I feel it's hard to get and keep the most attractive girls in porn. That's where I think the "porn sucking lately" holds true.

Naomi Russell and Brianna Love remind me of 80s/90s porn stars. Too bad they aren't still around.
IMO the ease with which anyone can create and distribute video (webcams, clips4sale, self-created websites, etc.) has made mainstream porn look comparatively worse. You can readily find dozens of amateurs on clips4sale making videos which directly cater to your particular fetish, compared to ZERO mainstream porn videos which cater to that same fetish. Which might make someone conclude that (mainstream) porn sucks lately. Edited by - ninja1 on 12/8/2012 1:10:01 PM

I wouldn't say porn is dying, but they have a reported money problem which has to influence quality, quantity and creativity because costs have to be cut. It seems logical that they do have a money problem, even in you only think in the context of what consumers do legally. An inherent problem (which has been exascerbated by the digital age) is the fact that porn is so reusable. A good scene will be a good scene forever. Mainstream movies have the same problem when people don't go to the movie theatre. But if they do go to the movie theatre for the unique experience, they are buying something that isn't reusable. They have to pay to go back to the theatre. With porn, you only pay once. And porn has another unique problem: in porn, a good preview can accomplish the same thing as a whole movie! A good preview can be better jerk off fodder than a bad movie. In fact, I would rather jerk off to any preview that features my favorite star than an entire scene that features the worst star. And previews are legally free. Imagine if an analogy to that existed for mainstream movies!
I think Dispo is right to an extent. I think (and I could be wrong, so correct me if I am), back in the day, the majority of internet porn users were of an age where they had happened upon porn elsewhere - be it magazines or whatever. There wasn't the porn literacy that there is now - where people have grown up with internet porn - and know they have a chance to have their views heard etc. If you were looking at Hustler, you were a passive participant, now you can be involved - subscribe to a website, have you preferences and comments listened to and acted on. And I don't think it's entirely a good thing.

Which part of my post are you agreeing with? And I don't see how user feedback is NOT a good thing. It's hard for me to watch a lot of old porn, it just isn't as hard and perverse as newer stuff. Half the time the girls don't even look as good as newer girls either (but many classic porn stars ARE gorgeous, but it's still tough to get hard to them, because their scenes are so vanilla). Porn really has a longevity problem, so I don't think people being jaded and keeping their old scenes is a real problem. Newer, improved porn is always welcome and there will always be that demand.
I don't want to get off topic but its money. Almost everyone on this site is a true fan or else you would not be on a board I still buy DVDs and subscribe to a few sites however everyone of my real world friends watches porn but no one pays for it they go to all the tube sites. Everyone watches porn what percentage actually pays??
I might have missed the point, but what I saw in the original question was about DP porn. Now, DP is, even now, not a standard thing. There are only a certain number of women in porn who are willing to do it. Granted there are more women who are willing to do it now than 5 years ago. So, what I would ask you is, how willing would you be to take a 10 inch dick up your ass? Not so much? Well I think you should probably think about that before you start quacking on about what porn stars should do. Yes they're paid for it. But just think about it. What would you have to do to be ready for that dick? As a human, not as a porn star or slut, or whore, or whatever name you have for her. She's doing it so you can have a wank in front of your computer in your bedroom.
