I haven't been around for a week and I was just reading a thread (this one) that forced me to scroll horizontally to read all of the text. I have never seen this before on this board.
I use firefox 2.0.0.4 and my screen is set to 160 hex 1200.
It's not a real pain or anything, vertical scrolling makes a little more sense to me though.
Maybe I am just behind the times and need to get a new mouse with more wheels and buttons.
I'm pretty sure I have described this properly, but if screen shots are needed let me know.

That happens occasionally. Either a long user name or putting a url can extend the forum.

It's new to me. Any way to avoid it? I don't think my posts have ever done that.

It happens with a really long string of text and no whitespace characters.
sample:
thisisreallylongtextwithnowhitespacechara
ctersorlinebreaksthisisreallylongtextwithnowhitespacecha
ractersorlinebreaksthisisreallylongtextwithnowhitespacech
aractersorlinebreaksthisisreallylongtextwithnowhitespacecha

edited to shrink the page width.

Wow, I didn't realize how much a very long text string screws up the location on the screen of the "Reply to Post" link and the box that I'm currently typing in.
I actually thought that there was a problem with the site when I didn't see the "Reply to post" link.
Drew,
This is the problem with the long URL link limitation that you put in. If someone tries to link to a URL that's over the limit, that long URL show up as a long text string.

The URLs are currently set at 250 characters. I don't think that URLs longer than that are a common thing. There are reasons for limiting the length of URLs.

That should work. It was at 150 when I had the problem occur twice in the same day this past weekend, right?
