I personally had an absolutely horrible time there, but I think fans enjoy it. It gives them a casual atmosphere to hang out with porn girls.

The porn girls who like to party and drink a lot seem to have a pretty good time too, as it's a week away from home staying in a cheap motel with a bunch of other porn and stripper girls.

Me, when I was there, I hung out with Dee and Juli Ashton, but because they were there with Playboy, they had a lot of work to do, and often needed to be away from the rest of the group.

myadultgroups - do they actually give out official hotel info to people who aren't part of the group? I know that was one of the biggest complaints of people like me and Juli and Tera Patrick. We wanted a place where we could go to get away from it all, and it was almost like we had people knocking on our doors at past midnight.

I went there two years ago and had fun. When I got there it wasn't that crowded and I chatted with Carmen Luvana, Alexis Amore, and Brittany Skye. They were walking around or sitting and were very approachable and pleasant. Some other stars seemed a bit shy; if they looked uneasy or nervous I respected their distance and didn't approach them. Some stars set up tables where you could get autographed DVDs, videos, magazines, etc. Later on that evening the crowd began to arrive and the stars put on a stage show. Little groups danced for a few songs, and all the stars got up on stage together and danced for a few other songs.

When I went there last year it was extremely crowded. Maybe I just showed up too late, but the wait to get inside the club was estimated to be at least an hour (I am not a VIP famous porn stud or a porn spouse). Given how crowded it was, I didn't wait around. If I go again this year, I will get there early. I recall the guy running the show saying that it was by far the biggest audience ever last year.

Selena Silver was at the show last year, so maybe she can give you a porn star point of view of the scene. (no silly, not a porn point of view scene - ha ha!)

Actually, you ARE the general public as far as the Tampa Show is concerned UNTIL you reveal (and prove) yourself to be anything else. Every event you mentioned above (except the XRCO) is a public event that anyone can attend. And the XRCO, which I took over 2 years ago, may need to revamp its door security unless you are someone that Margold (at the door) felt could enter...

You say it is a very small show? You couldn't be more wrong. The Tampa Show, now in its 13th year, is the LARGEST gathering of adult stars and show of its type east of Las Vegas. Last year we had over 50 stars - from Jenna on down! And they were in town from Thurs-Tues - much longer than any other adult event anywhere! Sounds like someone needs to do their homework...

As for you covering the event: who the heck are you? Can't you provide a name? I still have no idea who you are other than you are a "Jackie Moore Fan" which kinda announces to the world who may not know you that you are a fan and not in the biz. Not knowing you - what else do you expect me to think? If you know so many people - have you ever thought of ASKING anyone going where it will be? We have plenty of magazines on hand with their photographers and writers which cover the event, so if you are, indeed, a legit photographer covering it for magazines then feel free to let us know what magazine you are covering it for and how you are accredited. It you are simply a freelance photographer or journalist hoping to do a story and possibly sell it if some place MIGHT buy it...we get dozens of people in this capacity every year wishing to hang out and be "one" with the stars, so to speak, and get a free ticket to the main event.

And we still wish to respect the privacy of the stars as much as possible and not have their hotel turn into a media circus (although many from the accredited media will be staying there who know how to be discrete). Our stars are there to relax and have fun with each other when not involved in scheduled events...and they don't want to have to worry or avoid media during off-times when they may be hanging around the pool and not necessarily "picture perfect". We even have 24 hour security to keep people away at the hotel who may hear through the porn grapevine where they are staying.

For freelancers like yourself there are three 4-hour time slots Thurs, Fri, and Sat where you can photograph and interview stars at their appearances to your heart's content. Plus the evening of the show on Sunday. Plus at their karaoke event on Monday - where apparently you will feel right at home if you fit in at PSK in LA.

Yes, the stars go around to a couple of clubs and meet the fans and yes, there's an award show and shit...but what makes The Tampa Show special is they bring a bunch of stars out from LA, get them together in one hotel and for some reason, there's no drama. Just about everyone gets along and leaves all the childish LA shit behind. Jesus, Mike South was placing bets on how long it would take me and Kent Silver (Selena's man) to get in a fist fight last year and nothing came of it.

The fun you have at the Tampa Show is up to you. If you hang with the group at the pool, in the bars, at the parties...you'll probably have a surprisingly good time. But, if you keep to yourself in your room (like many stars do), don't participate in events and blow off some of the required appearances...then you probably shoulda just stayed in LA.

I'm looking forward to this year...but I hope it's not in the same hotel as last year. The mold, bugs and disgusting food at that rundown old hole is not worth a second visit. The year before was nice but I think we got banned from that hotel for poolside nudity. :)

For the talent end of things, I try to make the best of situations, but honestly, I would have had a lot more fun if I decided ahead of time to chip in some of my own money and stay away from all the other girls.
The amount of drama was just more than I could tolerate - pregnant or not.

My non-LA roommate invited her boyfriend to stay in our room. I ended up having to kick him out. Then she invited some other guy in the room for when she was doing X and GHB and god knows what else. One of the times I went into my room, she was passed out and drooling. The boyfriend came back and tried to break into my room. I had to run to Seymour for help, and he protected me from the psycho boyfriend guy.

The non-LA girls that year, especially Bianca Trump, were also more than I could handle. I hope that more years are like Wankus' year (without the mold) without all the drama I experienced.

I heard that the Digital Playground girls took a perdium from the company last year and paid the difference to stay in a different hotel. If that option is available this year, I'm sure Tyler and I will do the same thing.

As for using your own money to stay away from the others - that kinda defeats the overall feeling as most people really enjoy hanging out together in this relaxed atmosphere. Most of the people who come one year end up asking to return the following year - they have FUN! Look at the HISTORY page on the www.tampashow.com site: it lists everyone who has been there and the years attended so you can see the many, many repeats. Staying up late hanging around the pool, watching Ron Jeremy go door to door in search of food or nookie, get lap dances at clubs within walking distance, and other things tend to make the Tampa Show experience a bonding thing folks cherish and cannot ordinarily do in L.A., Vegas, or other events to this extent. Plus, it is a mini Florida vacation. Fun.

I'll go ahead and say again that none of the BS drama of the hotel seemed to make it's way to the fans, so the fans do indeed seem to have a good time when they go see the girls at the many various signings in the Tampa area.
And for the partiers in the group, people screaming and doing drugs might be considered a bonus. ;)

I can't agree more - and that is why we never invite back people like Bianca, the girl you roomed with, and ANYONE who is obnoxious, a problem, or a pain in the ass. I try to weed out anyone in the beginning (this IS an invitational event and NOT an open event for anyone in the adult business to attend on a whim). As for drug use, I am against it 100% as you know, but no amount of pre-screening of those invited can ever "weed out" everything of this nature. I never intentionally or knowingly invite "druggies". I had a girl one year in the past who never left her hotel room and I think I remember seeing her for perhaps 5 minutes total the entire 5 days! But that is a rarity, fortunately. There will always be some kind of drama - usually petty and minor, fortunately - and you frankly have to make the best of it, contain it as needed, and mark them off future lists to attend. This is true at all adult events (AVN EXPO, etc.) and, fortunately, for the most part, any drama or abuse at the Tampa Show is always a very, very small part of things and does not reflect on the others who are there and mature enough to know how to act and enjoy their time together in (usually) sunny Florida..
