Nothing against other great black stars, especially Desiree West or Jeannie Pepper (yum), but H.H. was, bar none, the cutest, sexiest, most enthusiastic, stroke-inducing black porn chick I ever saw, and one of the greatest stars of any ethnicity IMO.
I gotta agree: The actual job itself is much more taxing these days. Performers like Marie Luv have to be in much better condition than in the past. There's more women competing, they churn out more product faster - and the work itself is just much more physical . Some of the most energetic-seeming stars of the '80s and '90s would seem tame by today's standards.
Which is just another reason to be so impressed by the gorgeous, sexy, and hyper-fit Marie !

She musta had quite a profile in the black community. Any of you see a really lame Jessica Alba movie called "Honey?" Alba plays a dancer trying to make it in the hip hop video world. At one point, she gets blackballed for not sleeping with the right person (amusing irony, since that's pretty much how Alba made her career, if the dirt around town is to be believed).
Missy Elliot has a cameo and is demanding Honey be the choreographer in her video, and makes a reference to another girl's dancing as "this Heather Hunter shit." Man that was funny.
I saw that movie (my bad) and even remember that point but not that reference.
BTW i was sure Alba's career started long ago but raised with TV show Dark Angel , she was amazing in there especially in season one and except for Sin City i don't see any career a lame movie followed by another lame movie like Never be Kissed , Sleeping Dictionary or Into the Blue , Fantastic Four was crap .This isn't a career. She has an incredible amount of photo shoots which helps a lot IMO. But I really don't see any career , she's famous nothing more. If she slept with someone to have a career this poor then it was a pillow

She started at 15 with a revival of the old Flipper show. Even at 15 she was a cute piece of ass. But the casting couch only gets you the role, not the talent. What F4, Into the Blue and Sin City did was elevate her for all to see, and even guys who ogle her are starting to agree she has no presence, no charisma and no talent, just a great body and a beautiful smile.
I also agree with Ordell because I didn't really start getting noticed really until I started doing anal. I do a good job and try to give the people a reason to keep me around. Not surprising. Tera Patrick always used to complain about how she couldn't hold herself up for more than 3 minutes in RCG. God forbid she go to the gym. Gorgeous though she is, she had zero muscle tone.
Not surprised it took anal to get you noticed. Sorta shoots down the whole TLC thread in the main message board. :) Obviously raincoaters drive the biz.
But I also think part of the problem is that with so many girls on DVD and on the Internet, it's just impossible to stand out. It's also due to the way movies are shot. Yeah, the industry has always had close ups, but now that's the bulk of the scene. Girls are just a pair of openings. A director worth his salt would emphasize the girl's best features and give us more body shots. In Marie's case, that would mean more leg and stomach shots, to highlight her lines.
And if directors had more than two brain cells to click together, they might do something REALLY innovative, like sell us on the girl's persona and character.

Some directors do explore the women's personality. Joey Silvera and DAC come to mind immediately. The performers with very strong personalities always come through and are usually among my favorites. Isn't that really where gonzo is at its best?
We're OT but she didn't started with Flipper (two seasons out of seven, she was 14 and 15)but with movies P.U.N.K.S. and Camp Nowhere .At 19 she also played a role in Paranoid an English movie not this good bu she was very good in there. I agree in her lack of acting in her latest roles and I'm wondering where's the old Jessica. It seems she stopped studying acting. Charisma is when you notice a person among a lot of her kind and she has.I read something like this about Keira Knightley few months ago after her roles in King Arthur and other movies , now you can find her among the nominees at the Academic Award as Best Actress

H.H. fans, I've been seeking her old features issued on DVD by Global Media International (Vidway). There seem to be only 2 sites renting any of these titles, Adult DVD Empire & WantedList. I try always to rent before buying.
Since I had a terrible experience with ADE, I just may try WantedList's plan.
I digress. I did take the plunge & bought "Twice as Nice" ($10.90 @ MBM) and can recommend it highly. The transfer is good, Heather & Ashton Taylor (almost HH's twin) are hot, and I got the not inconsequential bonus of 2 Tami Monroe B/G scenes (in her pre-bolt-on days) that I'd not seen, one of which was spectacular (including anal lying on her belly). And Tami is not even mentioned in the cast list.
Since I love both HH and TM mucho, I'll be renting "Frankenhunter" & "Hung Jury" 1st thing upon enrolling with WL.
If anyone shares my lust for both these cuties, say so & I'll check back in with a report after renting.
Dominique came into the business two or three years after Heather. Maybe four. So maybe Dominique doesnt't count in this group. But let's not forget my girl Nina De Ponca.
