Yeah, I agree. It's pretty much bad netiquette to link to a "unknown" zip file. It's best to just post the pics or host the jpgs on a site.

Well, I can't post the JPEGs "outside" the zip archive because my website would be banned. If you tell me how to post pics directly here, I will gladly do it. Btw, I have a university degree in computer science and I am considered to be a computer expert but you are the first to tell me that including ZIP archives on a website is not ethical. Just look around and see how many ZIP files can be found on the internet. Well... on the other hand, using HTML tags (eg. to include pictures :)) when posting on a forum like this *isn't* ethical.

.zip files are often times carriers or masks for "baddies" like viruses and trojans. I'm not saying it's "unethical to post a .zip file", not at all... etiquette and ethics are two totally and completely different things.

Most .zip files on the internet that people download are from trusted sources. Objectively, it's just sorta bad form to ask a bunch of people to download and open a strange .zip file... especially when there's simple and risk free ways of accomplishing the same thing. You don't have to use html at all... there's img tags built into the bulletin board specifically for you to post pictures .

Just like you hear from IT people all the time in regards to e-mail, "if you don't know who sent it or what it is, don't open it! ".

Why would your website get banned for posting .jpgs? Decency? Just don't have them up on a page and simply link to them.

It's not a big deal and I didn't mean to make it one. It's just one of those things, in my forum browsing experience, that's generally frowned on.
