| JZ1276 Member 98 Posts 10/04 | So I been dating the girl now for almost 2 months and it seems after every time we have sex she is complaining about her vag burning up. So far she has had a yeast infection and now she has a UTI. This has never happened with other girls I have been with. We usually have sex 2-3 a week which isnt much and she never has a problem getting wet so i am baffled. We are just having sex with each other and she is on the pill and we dont use condoms. Can anyone help? [Link] |

Or, even if she isn't allergic to your sperm or something, all sperm creates an alkaline environment conducive to yeast infections. A dab of (live culture, unflavored) yogurt into the vagina after sex may help. However, I can't tell from your initial posting -- is she complaining of pain during sex? Is she experiencing the pain immediately after sex? Both of those would indicate something else besides UTI's or yeast infection. I'm assuming from the fact that she has been diagnosed with UTI and yeast infection, that she HAS been to a doctor. They are not usually good at showing any interest in underlying causes; they generally just say that bacteria (or fungus) is present, so here is a prescription. However, keep after them, ask a lot of questions, be specific about the problem, and look things up on your own. It can take years of doctor shopping for any of them to show even minimal interest in prevention or simple solutions. |

But the best tip I ever heard was to take, at the FIRST sign of tingling (she will know when it's ba-a-a-a-ack), an Alka Seltzer. Alka Seltzer Gold, if your drug store carries it (or use amazon.com), but Walmart's generic works fine (the difference is that regular non-Gold Alka Seltzer contains a salicylate -- which is in the aspirin family and some people need to avoid aspirin). Repeat the Alka Seltzer as necessary. Sugary soft drinks can feed both problems faster than anything, so avoid them. |
