| Ishamael1 Member New Zealand 81 Posts 12/02 | I am looking for something quite specific... What I want to see is something that is believably medievil or renaisance (The long elegant dresses etc) and nasty at the same time. Preferably something with no condoms (That would kinda spoil the effect) and suspenders and stockings would be a bonus as well. Can anyone give me a reccomendation? Thanks! [Link] |

Just say no. 7564 Posts 11/02 | Period films are a speciality of Italian cinema in general (peplum) and that tradition has been continued in Italian porn. The "masters" (I use this term loosely since I really don't like these films very much) are Luca Damiano and the late Joe D'Amato. Damiano made period or costume films such as "Hamlet", 4 parts of "Decameron X", and the "stories" of historical figures such as Marco Polo ("Marco Polo ... la storia mai raccontata", co-directed by Joe D'Amato) and Napoleon ("La maitresse de l'empereur"). He also adapted a lot of classic fairy tales, such as Little Red Riding Hood (two parts of "Le avventure erotix di Cappuccento Rosso"), the three little pigs ("Le tre porcelline"), Snow White (two versions of "Biancaneve e i Sette Dani"), the Beauty and the Beast ("La Belle et la Bête", a musical no less; well, let's say they tried anyway) and Aladdin ("Erotic Dreams of Aladdin"). "Gamiani" belongs to his adaptations of classic erotic fiction of the 18th and 19th century, in the same vein as his videos "La Nymphomane Impériale" and "Le libertin perverti". D'Amato specialized in peplum adaptations (not surprising, in the '60s he worked as an assistant director on some Italian peplum films). Some of these titles are: "120 giornate di Sodoma", "Les travaux sexuels d’Hercule", "Sodoma & Gomorra", "Aphrodite" and "Messaline". Just like Damiano, he also liked to adapt literary classics such as "Othello: Dangerous Desire", "Forbidden Sex of the Kama Sutra", "Tarzan-X: Shame of the Jungle" (this movie may be hard to find, iirc it was pulled off the market after complaints by the Edgar Rice Burroughs people; interestingly, D'amato made a female version of Tarzan with "Selen: La regina degli elephanti") and "Giulietta e Romeo" Other Italian directors also made the occasional costume drama. Steve Morelli for instance made "I Moschettieri del Re" ("The King’s Musketeers"). Maybe the Italian members of ATD know more information than I have given here.
