Can someone offer some help here.
All of a sudden, I can't seem to get on the RLD website. I type it in the address bar and it redirects to canada.com I have no idea how to stop it from doing this.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

You most likely have spyware on your computer. Have you tried a different browser?

I got spybot and it cleaned up some other issues but I'm still having the same problem. I'd like to stay with the same browser, so is there any options?

It has to be spyware of some sort. Install another program like Lavasoft's AdAware or something.

Download a 15-day full-version trial of the #1 adware/spyware product out there, CounterSpy.
It will find and get rid of many things that Spybot and Ad-Aware can't and don't.

You might try searching for that URL in the registry, or its numeric equivalent. It's possible it's stashed there. Most people forget the registry even exists.

open a command prompt. Press Start button>Click Run>enter "cmd" (press enter, don't type the quotes)
When you have a command window open type:
tracert www.rlddistribution.com (and press enter)
You should see:
Tracing route to www.rlddistribution.com [216.144.238.69]
and then a bunch of times, network addresses and stuff. They aren't real important yet. I just want to see if your computer is resolving the 216.144... address properly.

that's really strange. I've never seen an XP system that can't run a trace route. Are you sure you spelled 'tracert' exactly?
Or are you getting the error at the Run command stage? If it's at the Run stage you can open a command window by doing:
Start Menu>All Programs>Accessories>Command Prompt

Do you have system restore enabled? If so, turn it off, then try to clean up your system again.
After you've got your problem fixed you can turn system restore back on.
Download and install Spywareblaster (blocks Active-X exploits):
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html
Make sure you've installed Microsoft's security upgrades.
http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
Meanwhile, your short-term fix is to use
http://216.144.238.69
instead of www.rlddistribution.com

The ip address doesn't get you to the proper website. It appears to be sharing an IP address with other RLD sites.

BHOlist, CWShredder and HijackThis have all helped me in the past.

I'm having the same problem. It's still happens with:
-Internet Explorer
-Netscape
-Modzilla
-Gogo Explorer
-Flock
Tried Spyware Blaster, and Spysubtract.
Hope someone has more info on how to solve this problem.

I wrote to Red Light's VP of Internet Operations about this problem. This is his response:
I guess this means that if your computer appears to be from Canada you aren't allowed to visit rlddistribution.com because another company has exclusive rights to the Canadian market.
