Robo, i've heard many times that its about how a particular man vibes with a woman outside of his physicality. i've seen guys who don't fit the physical bill have girls fall in deep lust simply based on how they carry themselves, their success, their dominance, or maybe that fact that they are in a profession that the girl holds in high esteem. this is the emotional component that as a guy i still don't completely understand. i worked as a barista with a guy who dated a prominent porn star and when she'd pop by to visit she couldn't have been more indistinguishable from any other West L.A. girl, just a regular girl with a not so regular job. as for dating, the few female porn stars i've seen in person are extremely normal off camera & this includes having a guy they can count on be exclusive with. porn is work and money & sex that is mechanically very good but not emotionally fulfilling. robo the real test is for the guy, not every guy can handle what a female porn star does for a living. in terms of hooking up, for a time in my life i was allowed as a single to attend swing parties and depending on which ones you go to some of the girls show up to party. for example back in the day Cumisha Amado (who in my opinion is a legend) used to attend certain parties. if you watch her dvds you'll see that she really enjoyed sex!

You regularly hear in interviews with directors and performers that STDs are very common, particularly herpes. Also, pretty much every performer says they don't have sex off-camera the way they do on-camera (that seems obvious to me).
I once went out a few times with a girl who wound up in a porn I saw. She just gave head and took her top off. Her porn name was Princess (her nick-name in real life). We didn't fuck because I could tell early on that she had major emotional problems and needed attention ALL the time. She would pretty much have sex with anyone and so would her mom! This is the type of girl who winds up on porn. Hell, I've been with someone who loved being slapped around, used to have nude parties with her friends, and wanted to go to sex clubs... She, too, was a bit off kilter mentally and I got out of it. Dating someone in the porn industry and expecting a relatively "healthy" relationship by everday standards is asking for a lot. Not all, but from what I've read and seen (I knew two girls who were only strippers) they have a warped sense of themselves and reality which makes it difficult to keep up any kind of normal, positive communication with them on most levels. Then you add the fact that for most porn stars (who are emotionally abused and hurt people) sex=attention=love which is an unhealthy cycle. On top of that you add STDs which run rampant because their testing by AIM only tests for a couple of the more dangerous things and they wind up exposed to strain after strain of STD shared between tons of people that would also cause complications down the line. I would say getting involved with a porn star would be a very negative choice you'd be making for your life...

yeah, while all of that may be true, the sex is usually so over the top killer, that STDs aside, make it all worthwhile in the short term. Only problem is you get spoiled by that kind of sex and normal vanilla sex becomes boring quickly.

Most pornstars are just like regular women, there are exceptions though. Most want the same things that any other woman wants. Just because someone does porn for a living doesnt mean that their on-screen persona is the same as their off-screen real life personality. No different when they are escorting. They are selling fantasy. There is a vast difference between women that have been in the industry for 6 months and 6 years though. Most girls go through what I call "pornification" when they first enter the industry. The act what they think a pornstar should act like...partying, drugs, sex ect. Then after a little while, if they stay in the business, they settle down and start treating it like its a career. Once a female performer starts realizing porn is her career a lot changes. I have been with Vanessa for over 4 years and I can tell you we have a rather normal healthy relationship.

Porn is their business and they run a huge risk having sex with an outsider who in essence could carry any number of diseases that might end their career and that is often times why pornstars don't sleep with anyone outside of the industry. As far as the pink elephant in the room that nobody wants to address directly - yes, some porn stars - NOT ALL - but some porn stars do escort. For anywhere from $1,000 to $10,000 you can "hire" a date with certain stars through established agencies. As far as how many porn stars actually escort, well that depends on how you define a "porn star". A real STAR, the bigger names in the industry - the top 20 or so, not many of those girls do it. They just flat out don't need to because they make more than enough money on their own. As far as the others, those aspiring starlets, I would venture to guess as many as 40% probably do it from time to time.
I've had the pleasure of meeting a few that feature danced near where I live, but that's as far as it got. Well give a few pictures and one kiss on the cheek. I think there were two out of maybe 15 that I even remotely thought about wanting to fuck in those few minutes with them. I quickly woke up and took my ass home. BTW, from what contact I've had you are 100% correct especially about considering it a "job." All we need to do is think about Nina Hartley, Jeannie Pepper, Sinnamin, Mai Lin and any number of actresses that are living productive lives. I think there is a vast difference between the higher level porn performers who make $1000 to $2500 a scene and well, those who won't. However when you are talking the girls like say some of those from Miami, eh I would probably venture to say maybe some of those rumors are true. Those girls don't tend to take good care of themselves. In reality porn isn't always high class and glamor. There is very much a seedy side of our business and a lot of those cheap icky girls are just flat out nasty. They show up with dirty feet and open sores. So my thought on that is, when people talk about "the industry" they tend to lump together everyone and don't split it up between the real stars like Jesse Jane, Jenna Haze and the like and well the lower class bang bros kind of girls.

I'm going to politely and completely disagree with everything you are saying and agree with Black Six a few posts above referring to Belladonna and Rocco as its clear that you are only speculating. I'm not giving away any top secret information here as I've mentioned this in several reviews that have been posted on this site. A perfect example would be male performer Ramon. The guy has obvious growths on his junk that aren't normal. It's really not that hard to notice as we get plenty of closeup shots in porn and the girls take that thing without batting an eye.

It's all speculation when it comes to numbers. However, there are some known facts like people can have herpes without any current visible signs especially if they are between outbreaks, and herpes can be transmitted even when the infected person is not experiencing an outbreak.
My brother got herpes from a red-haired british 21 year old receptionist he met at a Christmas party. Any one who fucks a lot is going to increase their odds of getting an STD. And you know what? Pornstars aren't the only ones who fuck a lot. I've known girls and women who have fucked so many men they would make any porn star look like a wallflower. This notion that pornstars are dirty, unclean, bacterial body bombs is part of an old paradigm that goes back to at least the Victorian age, when it was projected onto prostitutes.
