This link is from their "Dead Porn Stars" section.
It says she was supposedly at the recent convention and that she faked her death to make a clean break from the biz.

I don't know Deano, are they sure it's THE Holly Lander(1972-2003) or some new girl using that name? I checked over at [ invalid url ] and they have her being cremated and her ashes scattered.

^ That's why we need Jeff or BigBobXXX to answer the questions. As you can see on the link they (IAFD) say she faked her death.

I don't know.
Jeff is the one who maintains the dead pornstar FAQ you linked to, which, in part, says, "FAKED: Story devised to allow clean exit from industry. She has returned to the industry at January 2009 AEE."
Let's see what he says when he sees this thread.

The dead porn star FAQ used to state that she had died; it has been updated, probably fairly recently. If she was really at AEE 2009, I would be surprised if no one posts photos. This should be easy enough to resolve.
By the way, she was a personal favorite of mine and I would be thrilled if this news were true. I have many of her old scenes and am thrilled when I find her appearing in cheap comps, since much of her work is out of print or was never released on DVD. She always had that special porno magic.

"The rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated." - Mark Twain
...or should we begin attributing that quote to Ms. Holly Landers/Landes?
I know that, economically, times are hard but damn...are pornstars actually rising from the grave to make ends meet? If so, I humbly and sincerely dedicate this video to Holly. It's always good news to hear that someone's not dead. Not so great to find out that for whatever reason and no matter how justified, they allowed people to think they were for years. Especially if their reasoning was to make a clean break from the adult industry only to resurface at the year's biggest adult industry event.

Perhaps but it's not like it's the first time it's ever happened.
At least Holly had enough decency left in her porn-worn body not to use her supposed death as an opportunity to attempt to bilk her fans...as if she ever had enough of those to make a difference.

^ Wow, that story was even weirder.
I wonder if faking your own death and collecting money from it is against any laws. It seems like the kind of thing no one would have ever thought to make a law about.

The editor who met her is persona non grata around these parts, so I don't know if we're going to get first-hand confirmation in the forum.
I think he grabbed some pictures. I'll check. If so, I'll post to the flickr account.

Does anyone else besides me think that the woman in the picture is a current performer who resembles Holly but is not her? I can't find pictures of Holly with a tattoo online or in my old scenes that I have been digging through, despite the tattoo's appearance in that picture and her IAFD info. Granted, the search has been a bit more difficult since she seems to be covering that region of her stomach so frequently as I look through her old scenes. Of course, it is possible that she got the tattoo after she appeared in the scenes I have.
Also, the woman in the picture appears to have a wider mouth and a more elongated, trim mid-section, although that could be the result of several years time and perhaps diet and exercise. Also, that woman looks familiar although I can't put a name to the face. Hmmm... the mystery remains.

This website, Holly Landers Pinup claims to be run by her. This website also states that the reported death was a hoax and that she was at AEE 2009. So perhaps she is alive after all. Good for her!
I didn't see anything on the website explaining why she faked her own death.

She also sort of implies that it wasn't her who started spreading the news of her death (which would explain why she didn't personally give any excuses for it). She says she never left SoCal and that people wouldn't believe she was alive when she tried to make contact but they finally believed her when she appeared in the flesh this year. So...it took her SIX YEARS to see her friends in person even though she still lived right in Southern California to prove she wasn't dead?
Okay...

The sixth post in this thread contains a link to a pic of her at AEE this year. I can't fathom why anyone would have any doubt left after seeing that. Maybe they've got something against clicking hyperlinks.

I clicked the hyperlinks and explained why I was not yet convinced above. However, I am now convinced. Spiegs speaks the truth.
I wonder if she faked her own death to get out of a commitment / business mess. It's none of my business, of course, but it is a bit intriguing. I'm surprised she could fake her own death for this long without a considerable effort on her part and perhaps the help of at least a few others. It's bizarre and sounds like it could be part of a soap opera or movie plot.

While this is good news for fans, friends and relatives of Holly it opens at least a couple questions.
If it wasn't of her doing how could it have lasted for six years?
How many other "suicides" or even reported "deaths" of porners are truthful?
Is it possible that the supermarket tabloid headlines I've seen over the past thirty plus years are true? Elvis, Marilyn, JFK and even Hitler are still alive?

I always liked Holly, she's a piece of ass and Im glad she's alive. I dont understand the deception, she gets 10 out of 10 for pulling it off. But she reportedly died near where Lisa Lopes died in Central America and near the same time that''s why I believed it.

If I recall correctly (and I very well may not), the story I read years ago reported that she died in either NV or CA in a car accident driving home on New Year's Day.
In any event, I'm glad she is alive.
