Since this is priced the same as Gladiator I just remembered that when they shot the "straight" version of it that they also shot a Gay version of it. Looking at the cover shot, it looks like this is actually that title.

Which sorta explains the identical price point...

Gay porn is really starting to get saturated with this style of "euro-porn", and if these reviews are acurate, then Private really doesn't bring anything new to the genre.

Scipio, you mentioned this was shot at the same time as the straight Gladiator... do you know if they used the same director? A straight director might explain some of the problems with boring sex that the people above were complaining about.

It's possible that it was directed by the same person as "Gladiator", but he's used a different nom de porn for the Gay title, but this is just a random guess.

"Gladiator" was directed by Antonio Adamo, who is rekowned/infamous for doing "high gloss/arty" hardcore porn, so it will sometimes have slow-mo, sometimes B&W, sometimes odd angles.

I havent seen "Gladiator" yet, so I' can't comment on if he uses these trademarks in it, or for that matter if he uses a "steam bath" for the same sort of effect as the other forum indicates.

So it looks like they are pushing ahead with their Gay line, and one should hope for improvement over time, after all, while their straight stuff is (IMO) great, they do at times drop the ball there.

Though if it sells well enough, it might push the price point down on some Gay titles, which would certainly be a good deal.

I wonder if they are setting theirselves up for failure with these low prices, though? They are priced the same as their straght line, but the target market for the gay videos is much smaller than for straight.

So the gay movies will make Private much much less than a similarly priced straight movie. They might consider this a failure and cut the line.

Also, gay movies have been expensive for so long, people might assume that since it isn't $50 bucks, it can't be a quality video. There's actually a lot of videos that come out in the sub-50 dollar range. Unfortunately, they're mostly crap.

I wish Private luck, though, and will probably check they're stuff out eventually. (Their next one, Gambler's Delight, looks like it might be good)

What is Private's reputation (if any) amongst the Gay vid consumer market like? Not somuch for the quality of their 'till-now nonexistant gay product, but are people aware of their pretty good reputation in the straight porn market?

Ahh.. and to think I remember when they just produced magazines and just started branching out into ugly-looking (to me) Videos..
