Does anyone know which female porn star is the highest paid at the moment and how much approximately she would be getting?
Also, can actresses choose who they have sex with or do their agents decide? If they can't, that must be a pretty raw deal sometimes, especially if they have to have sex with a male porn star who is totally unattractive.
Don't know the answer to your question, but on her myspace it says Charlotte Stokely is making about $30 K per month...No doubt there are others making more.
I think we need to clarify the question. Is it "which performers takes home the most money each month from her work on camera?" - in which case a volume gonzo performer like Charlotte Stokely might well be in the running. Or is the question "who can command the largest fee for a single performance?" - in which case the big name feature girls like Jenna would be the most likely contenders. Or is it "which performer earns the most overall from whatever source?" - in which case women like Jenna and Tera (who both have their own companies) would be chief suspects.
On the question of whether porners choose their onscreen sex partners, my understanding is that contract girls usually have an input on this but the average porn girl just has to perform with whoever she is given (although some girls specify that they will only do particular acts onscreen with their real-life partner and they are hired on the understanding of that).
That is correct. It really depends. Contract girls generally make more per scene but Freelance girls can make more in a month but have to shoot a lot more scenes. Hillary Scott can probably pull down $30K a month too as long as her ass keeps it up. But it's not a bad idea to give your ass a break every now and then. :)
Generally most girls that shoot all the time will get a rate near the same ballpark. Unless it's a special scene, for example, a girl who does anal very rarely or does B/G just only once or twice. If you're just shooting standard B/G day in/day out, your rates will stay about the same as everybodys.
I'm not talking about contract girls here. Of course, they will get more per scene. Maybe every company pays different to freelance. I'm sure not everyone discusses exactly what they get or else there'll be problems. I'll have to stop at there.
Jenna no longer performs though. I know that she got a lot of films in the can before she retired though. She makes most of her money from her company, right? Just saw that she was on the Forbes 100 list.

In working on the railroad like I've done the majority of my working life, it's what we call the difference between working the extra list (gonzo), or working on a regular assignment (with regular/cycled days off). Not at all the same, just a comparison. For instance, had I stayed on the job I was on (when I got fired) year-round, I'd only make about $47k. Granted, if I "whored" myself out (and yes, we use the term literally on the railroad) on the extra list, I'd likely make well in excess of $60-70k (some in the engine craft make over $90k annually). Not topical as related to porn, but you get the general idea, hopefully.
$30k/month breaks down to what seems to be an average of 20 anal scenes per month, no? Of course, I assume some girls can handle more in a day than others, but $300k+ each year is far away from laughing stock of any job, which is why I respect the industry & it's talent as much I do.
As much I break my ass for the money I make, it's still peanuts compared what these girls comparatively put their "asses" through, and they don't have to work until they're 60 either.
Monstar, don't you mean, "dip your stick in her (Kami's) chips?"
Jenna was smart & bought into her videos, did she not? So she gets money from their sales to this day, no?
As for the listed 3 "highest paid", noting Tory Lane on that list. After seeing her dance last night @ Al's in Reading, PA ~ I can understand why. The girl is a fucking doll and from what I've seen, a very eccentric performer.
A little off topic, but here are pics of Tory dancing. Her show is fantastic, go see her if she is performing near you. Click here

Photos can do no justice to seeing her live, the girl knows how to work the pole & her audience. She mentioned being a stripper & Hooters girl in a past life, which was enlightening to say the least.
I don't/won't kiss-n-tell about figures discussed. Money is something that while I pride myself in, others may not want the entire world knowing about their annual/monthly income for very good reason.
i would have to say Belladonna is high up this list folks i know nothing on number sbut it's got to be in the top 5 girls for sure

She quickly got an annullment from Rick Shameless, the marriage didn't make it past Thanksgiving, if even that far.
To the best of my knowledge, she's been back doing her old stunts again (B/G, Anal, DP, etc.) and is on Jules Jordan's Ass Worship #9 - which was likely shot since the breakup. She also just broke away on her own from LA Direct Models according to an excerpt on AdultFYI.
Sad that her marriage didn't work out, but seriously, this girl could take over the world. I can see her ruling a South American country, and really enjoying it, and her people really enjoying being ruled by her. I can see her wearing a patch over one eye and fucking her generals.
I can see it now: TORY LANE: REVOLUTIONARY LEADER. Get her dressed like Che on the cover. Yeah, now we're talking!
Amy Ried gets $2000 per scene for B/G. I think that is the highest scene rate right now.

I hope that, considering she hasn't really been doing B/G for as long as some seasoned vets, this isn't considered a slap in the face. That's a pretty fucking high rate for just plain ol' B/G if I understand correctly!
Why would that be a slap in the face to anyone. The fact that she's done so few B/G scenes is the reason that she's getting such a high rate. As she continues in the business, her rate will likely decline (until she adds other things into her repertoire).

Bill, not to her, of course. Rather, to those girls who've paid their dues in the industry. I can't imagine too many girls who've made that kind of money per scene just for doing B/G.
Sure, not every girl starts @ G/G (or hibernates to it early on, in this case). It seems like a scenario best left compared to someone the likes of Sammie Rhodes, if she ever returns to B/G.
Just what amount of $$ could/would get Amy to do Anal, or DP...for some reason, I don't see those things happening in her career. And if they do, at the rate increases that seem evident with more orafice versatility, I can't too many directors affording (or wanting to afford) that very often?
Right. For women in adult, "paying your dues" doesn't get you paid more money. It means that you are already in lots of movies and, therefore, not as valuable to producers as you were when you first started.
The "flavor of the week" is always going to be the person who gets the big bucks, especially if she manages her career properly, as Amy has apparently done.
Without getting off topic, I have some observations from my years of following porn, and talking to most of the performers at shows or dance clubs.
Pay is one of the best kept secrets in porn. Even girls who work for the same company are encouraged NOT to tell each other what they get paid. Plus there may be a "bonus" involved. Such as a "signing bonus" for Contract Girls that's in the form of money or a purchase (usually a car). This can push their actual "salary" up many thousands beyond their official wage. Also, the company may pay for the performer's implants, or other surgery. For example, Tawny Roberts has said in an interview with Xcitement mag, that she's had two boob jobs, one paid for by her first employer, VCA (?); and her second, when she signed with Vivid.
Also, as Cody Bangs mentioned on another thread, part of a Contract Girl's responsibility is to "promote" the company, by going to events, autograph signings, etc. They usually get paid a specified amount for these activities--plus transportation, hotel costs (and in some cases per diem).
My understanding is that bonus' for doing a "first" may be given to a non-contract girl for, say, her first anal, dp, facial, gangbang, etc. It doesn't permanently change her rate-per-scene, but it does give her an occasional Bigger Pay Day.
To talk specifics, and I can NOT verify the validity of these numbers: I've seen published reports that Janine got $400k from Vivid to come back and do b/g. I don't know how many sexvids/scenes that amount was suppose to cover (and remember, she ended her contract with Vivid early [after the Rocco incident], so she probably didn't get all the money that was suppose to come to her).
Also, I've read--again, I don't know how true--that Devon got an outrageous amount ($40k) to do her first anal in "intoxicated." This could have included a "signing bonus"--though, like the Janine/Vivid situation, the relationship between Devon and Digital Playground ended abruptly, or prematurely.
Lastly, since the 1980s the "car bonus" has been pretty standard with Vivid with their Contract Girls. The psych behind the car bonus is that giving the girl reliable transportation benefits the company, too, because the girl has one less excuse for not showing up on time to a shoot.

It just seems to me as though you're comparing the girls with experience to a used car. The car, however, just keeps losing value as the miles pile on?
In contrast, a somewhat new girl with less credentials in a particular genre to a new home. Add more property / add-on to the house, and the property value accels.
I always get confused when I see a girl charging more as an escort than as a porn star. I have no specific examples to hand, but I remember realising some porn star's hourly rate as an escort was more than she was reported to charge for a scene.
This makes sense to me because the "escort experience" is a one-on-one, with a customer who has a strong attraction for the star. So she is charging him to fulfill the ultimate fantasy...and its worth a lot more the "one step removed" sexvid experience.
In many cases that's because she's working with an agency who takes half of the fee. If you can book the same girl privately, that rate can drop dramatically.
That's not a bad analogy. Once you drive a new car off of the lot, it immediately loses value. For an "in-demand" new girl, the size of that "new car lot" is probably about 20-30 scenes or so. After that, people aren't going to be willing to pay that much for her for two reasons. First, since there are already 20 or 30 movies featuring that girl, her presence in another movie won't necessarily create a lift in sales, as it did for her earlier shoots. Second, by the time those 20 or 30 scenes have been shot, there's a new "hottest new girl in town".
That's why, after the first rush, you either start to see girls doing things that they didn't do in their early scenes; Anal, IR, DP, etc... or they become a contract girl for someone.
However, unlike a used car, the "book value" of the doesn't continue to drop. Her fee just levels off at an amount lower than it started at, when she was able to demand a premium.

There are gonzo girls who get paid a LOT of money, a lot more than some of their peers. When Jill Kelly was doing gonzo, she was charging about 40% more for a b/g than any of the other girls in the video. And she had to be guaranteed the boxcover.
I recently hired a girl who was $1500 MORE to do the same sex acts than the girl who worked the day before. For me, it was a matter of who would sell the video more.
Newcomers DO get paid more to do an act the first time, but a girl like Sandra Romain, Tory Lane, Jenna Haze... they are going to help sell the video, so it's worth paying them more.
Ryan - you forgot an important part of being paid. It's not just how much the girls get per scene, and how often they do scenes. A girl who dances on the road, or gets paid for appearances, or sells a shitload of merchandise, whether it's custom videos or whatever, is going to seriously supplement her income.
I had several friends who towards their retirement, did 2-3 videos a year just to keep up their fanbase to make their souvenirs and personal custom videos stay valuable.
I see the rationale behind paying someone like Jenna Haze today or Jill Kelly in her heyday a higher rate -- they're a proven commodity. I understand kickin' out a lil extra for first-time sex acts. What I don't agree with is paying some unproven newbie astronomical amounts for straight b/g just because she thinks she's cute or whatever.
There needs to be a starlet salary cap.
Edited to add: I hadn't read the entire thread but this:
is precisely the situation I was referring to.

If the director or producer thinks that the presence of that unproven newbie will increase sales of a particular title, then what is it that you don't agree with?
When you get to the heart of the matter, isn't the real job of a starlet to increase the number of discs that are sold? If that happens because she's doing her first B/G, first Anal, first IR, doing a gang bang or just because she's going to look really hot on the box cover, who cares?
What's the difference, as to what the reason is, if the end result is that more DVD's are sold?
I don't really understand your problem. If she can charge that much for a scene..and producers are willing to pay her, what's the big deal? Please don't tell me ohh she doesn't enjoy her work and she just cares about a fat pay cheque. Fact is..that is a reality for most of us. Im just gonna take a stab in the dark and guess that Amy Reid does not want to be in this industry very long. Not many girls do..who wants to get fucked by random dicks day in-day out and risk contracting some weird creamy STD, sucking the shit off another girls dick.
She's just getting her hustle on..and hopefully for her sake she's saving it because lord knows she's not a strong enough performer to stick around for more than a few years
I didn't mean to sound as if I had a HUGE problem but I guess I'm just old-school in the sense that I think you should actually EARN your pay, not get paid based on how many videos you'll potentially sell because you're new and blessed enough to be considered attractive. Because once the word is out that the "new, good looking girl" can't fuck...then what is she really worth to your video sales?
The reason Jenna Haze can charge what she charges is not because she's getting by on ignorance of her abilities it's because we know good and damn well what we're gonna get once we toss the DVD in our players beyond the good looks.
I'm well-aware of how the system actually works, I was just venting on how I wish it should work.

In a sense to my earlier comment, I guess this is how I should have worded my "paid her dues" comment. She's proven, outside of looks, that she can fuck...period.
Outside of good looks, performance I'd think is a prerequisite. Can't do it, you're not going to last long in porn. Just because you have a natural rack, and a godlike body doesn't make you a natural performer, or even one who is able to act for the paycheck. I just picked up Addicted to Boobs and am in the process of finally viewing BD8 with Amy, so I'll get my necessary fill there.
I understand what you're saying, tricia. Naturally, merchandise will bring in even more but I was just specifically interested in how much they would get paid purely for doing the scenes.
