Most famous would be John Holmes. Unfortunately John fell on hard times in the early eighties and was forced to make his one and only gay movie. Private Pleasures of John C. Holmes (1982). As this was the very early 80's and there had only been very little press about Aids, John almost certainly wouldn't have known he was putting himself at risk by making the movie. One of the Actors in the film (Joey Yale) was infected with the HIV virus and its now commonly thought this is where john picked up the virus.

Nowadays all actors take regular HIV test and many scenes use condoms, so the chances of becoming infected is pretty small, but sadly a few actors have been infected shooting scene's.
