He paid her for a porn shoot. After he shoots that scene he's free to do with it what chooses. He can make it into multiple separate scenes, he can make an edited version to air on a mainstream platform, he can use it again and again in a "best of" compilation, etc...This is a fairly common practice. I wish porn talent would get the same sort of treatment their mainstream Hollywood counterparts receive and get paid a percentage of profits when their work is sold or shown in other platforms but in this case Holly agreed to a porn shoot and was paid accordingly and that what the producer got....what he does with it afterwards wasn't part of the deal. Do performers demand 3 scene rates for that? Is she demanding Mason give her 2 scene rates? Girls are paid scene rates, not royalties or percentages of sales. So, I don't see AA doing anything wrong here. It was a damn good scene too. What she wants is $2.4K which means that the guy would have in this case $300 of profit, lower than $1K that he think he deserves. Within this example and with $400 extra, she received $1.6K and the guy had $1.1K of profit. The thing is unless explicit agreed between the parts that the scene can only be released once and only in one platform, he, as the rightly owner of the product, can do whatever he wants. He may never release it, release once, release in two videos (this case), release in multiple platforms, etc. Of course, it's still a bit of douche move doing this without informing the talent involved, but it's in his rights to do so. She is wrong in this instance and should not be getting double rate because they split it up into two parts. Companies release scenes in multiple ways now, that has nothing to do with the scene rate. Like my prior example, her Mandingo scene was released twice; as a single scene for buy, and as part of a Mandingo DVD release. A lot of scenes break even or do not make money these days. I don't think it is a good time for performers to be calling for a royalty based compensation system. The guaranteed scene rate is probably a better model right now. However, this is the wrong battle as the porn model is to pay your scene rate. What they do with that scene is up to the director and the company that distributes it. Companies often sell scenes in multiple ways (single scene buy, a packaged DVD with other scenes, a comp in the future ,etc) and this is no different. They did give her extra (which they did not have to do) to try to soothe the situation and she still seems pissed. I can see her point, but unless she wants to lead a revolution on how performers make money, it is serving her no benefit to go after this. I like to see more performers creating their own content so they are not facing these types of issues. Onlyfans seems to be catching on, as is uploading their own content on places like porn hub, or doing their own website scenes like Riley Reid for example.
