Part of New Sensations' strategy in creating hype for the fast-approaching release of Dark Angels 2 is to tout the quickly rising popularity of Sunny Lane, the film's young female star. AVN-Rising porn starlet Sunny Lane has been receiving increasing attention lately as numerous high profile opportunities have barraged her.

1. Sunny Lane definitely has my vote for Best New Starlet, but I don't need press releases to make me think that. I imagine we'll get similar rhetoric in press releases from RLD, should they choose to even go that route, about James Avalon's second feature for them.

2. I look back at my earlier posts and feel bad for comparing Sunny to so many other porn stars because when I look at her now I just see Sunny Lane and she drives me crazy. However, I couldn't shake thinking about Sunny during The Wedding Crashers whenever Isla Fisher's character was in her hypersexual mood (I'm not talking about her throwing fits or slapping Vince on his wounded knee scenes though). Wonder if I'm alone on that.

I caught Traci nekked (for the first time) in a bad B-movie, A Time to Die , (1991) on Skinimax last month. Now, I can see where some might say Sunny has a little Traci Lords thing going on.

By the way, Traci's acting in Time was just horrible, though she seemed right at home in the build-up and pay-off surrounding the love scenes. I'd seen far better overall performances from Samantha Fox and Veronica Hart in actual adult films.

So, maybe it will be interesting to see how Sunny is at feature film acting in the female lead:

Put some pedestrian clothes on her and Sunny Lane could easily pass for any number of girls I've had classes with at my college. In fact, there was a girl last June who looked just like her (ah, I've made myself sad now). Of course, the same could be said of any number of girls when they first start in porn before they invariably start looking like porn stars. With Sunny though, she looks roughly the same now as the she did when she entered the biz. That's clearly part of her appeal, the accessible girl-next-door who just happens to win FOXE awards which she accepts with a succict speech like, "Thanks! Let's keep fucking and sucking in '06!" Now she's the accessible girl you might be able to go to some LA concert with in April.
