It does need strenght.But then a lot depends on your own height,weight and strength as well as the height,weight and strength of the girl.
I am 5'11 and weigh 92 kgs and work out.My gf is 59 kgs right now and 5'8".I can pick her up and continue having sex for some time but its not that easy for me to move her about.So when i pick her up i generally thrust inside her whilst holding her from her ass with her hands tied around my neck.Sexy move.Feels great and in general the girl will always appreciate your strength if you can do this.However if you dont workout i would suggest doing this with shorter girls - say around 5'5".

Off-topic but in porn they always ruin it by the cameraman going for low camera angle to show the penetration close-up. I don't want/need to see penetration; it's not impressive, I see penetration all the time in porn all the time. Ho hum. It's all about physics. If she's leaning against a wall at a slight angle, put your arms on her legs just below as ass. Gently press up. She will naturally press herself against the wall more. Gently press up again. Same deal with her. Eventually, grip your hands together under her ass so that she is almost sitting on your wrists and forearms, like a chair. Lift her up.
