Actually, the larger agencies are well run, large machines that book numerous scenes each day. I represent Goldstar Modeling and I have to say Joel Lawrence works his ass off every day. His staff is large and they are also quite dedicated to getting the job done.
Imagine getting 30-40 porn girls to show up at the right location, with the correct wardrobe, wearing the right make-up, and realizing what has to be done on that particular day, each and everyday including weekends and holidays. Its not a job for the lazy or faint of heart.
Not many Hollywood agents work from 7am til 12midnight. I get 2-3 calls a month from guys who want to do their own agency. I tell them whats involved to be truly successful and most decide to pass.
I think its one of the hardest jobs in the industry.
The big ones work like this. Some small ones say, well we'll need to test drive you first, and have the girls do a free POV "compliance" video. Oddly enough they get away with it a lot.
If you can handle that kind of workload, why not diversify? Must be a bunch of different (and less labour intensive) fields that require representation ...
Let me guess - these 'compliance' videos are compiled into standard product, and sold with the contracts to prove it?Nobody sues?I wanted to know if they acted like typical (or stereotypical) Hollywood agents or in another fashion entirely, however your interpretation sums it up pretty well.
