Im Misty and Im from the mid-west but Im currently in southern Texas near South Padre Island. I have been wanting to get into the Porn industry for awhile but Im not a big city girl so its hard to know who I can trust out there. Dose anyone have any good advice for me? You don't have to necessarily live here, if you work with an agency, as they can plan for a trip here (on your dime, not theirs) and line up a series of a dozen or so shoots in a two to four week stint; essentially however long you're willing to be in town. (2) check to see if another performer/company has a trademark thats close to that name (a) if yes go back to (1) and start again (b) if no continue (3) check to see if the domain name is available (a) if yes then continue (b) if no then go back to (1) and start again (4) buy all of the variations of the name and .net, .org, .biz ect including club--.com and -----XXX.com (5) form an Inc or LLC for tax benefits and legal protection. (6) once you use your name for the first time and its used in commerce - trademark your name. Your stage name/trademark and website will become very important later. If you dont do it before hand someone will take your domain once you start getting known. Too many performers wait too long to try and protect their intellectual property and then it becomes more difficult and costly. And finally, do not let your webmaster do any of the above.
