As you run out of hard-disk space to store all your downloaded porn, what criteria do you use to determine what goes to make room for the new stuff? Do you become more selective in what you add to your collection?
I should't admit this...but I upload the dvd's that I buy for the scenes that I REALLY enjoy...lets put it this way...in the 15 years I've been watching porn...I have 20 gigs uploaded of DVD's that I bought. Obviously, most of this stuff is bjs/handjobs/bukkake/gokkun

I collect it until my cabinet's overflowing, then I give away everything to someone who can't seem to get porno on their own, leaving only one in my stash for emergencies. Last time around, I left "Chemistry 3" behind. Then I start the whole cycle over. I AM MEAT BALL
I use survival-of-the-fittest plus survival-of-the-nearest I leave all my dvd's out of their case in random stacks in and around the player/TV after a while whichever ones have gotten too scratched go away..whichever ones have migrated farthest away from the player/TV go away

I'm going to have to buy another house. My collection is so large it would take me ten lifetimes to watch it all.
I buy so many titles a month and my friends do likewise and we just swap with each other. If one of the titles i get from them is a must have then i buy it apart from that it is a great way to keep seeing fresh material.

There are specific things I like watching, so I tend to stick with series or directors that deliver on that action. I also solicit recommendations and read reviews, so I have a pretty good idea of what I'm getting before I get it. As a result, I buy less porn than I used to, but I also throw less of it away. Not very exciting, I'm afraid, but efficient!

I go back and delete shit i never should have downloaded in the first place. If the scene doesn't feature a pornstar i'm particularly fond of, it gets canned. I also opt for lower quality videos as they take up less space.
1+. I don't know if my things are that specific though, but I follow certain directors who shoot the stuff I like and seems to share my mentality of how porn should be made. I'm picky but loyal. I download sometimes, but very rarely burn it onto DVDs or CDs, it takes too much effort to organize a collection like that. I download to 'check something out', if it's really good I try to find it on DVD, but I'm pretty happy with my collection as is so I don't go sleepless if I can't get a DVD I want.
My collection isn't that grand, but I use Case Logic CD Wallets for all my 12cm discs. I get rid of most DVD cases, keeping the inlays. The best thing is that it takes very little time to find a specific DVD or CD.

Exactly. That's why I love Jonni Darkko. His sensibility is very close to my own, sexually and visually. I can almost always count on him to deliver what I like, the way l like to see it, with the girls I want to see it with! As for CD storage, I use a set of color-coded Discgear containers. I had one box, about 40 VHS cassettes, at the time I got my DVD player. Most of that got ditched as I swapped out for DVD copies. I do have a few VHS titles left, some Vivid comps from the mid-90's [which I should probably just throw away] and a bunch of Spiked-Heel Diaries volumes, which will never be reissued.
Porn on VHS never appealed to me, the quality, the hassle, it was just not a format suited for being watched a zillon times. If it wasn't for DVD I would probably still watch shitty clips on my computer... Edited by - Gunzo on 6/13/2008 1:19:23 PM

The best way to hide VHS tapes are in shoeboxes. You can fit about 12 of them in there like a glove. I have about 4 of them stashed in another moving box so it's very discreet in the closet.
Portable hard drives. Can get 500GB for under $150 anywhere.

Between 1987 to 1999, I had a collection of over a 1000 vhs tapes. I used to store them in footlockers. Very hard to hide the fact but I did. I have copied roughly 700 of them to dvd.
Right about the time you're done converting, some new format will replace dvd. Sticking with VHS!

I will always adapt to new technology. You have to remember, I started watching porn on those old projectors you all remember from grade school in the 70's. The first loop I had was called "Rock Star". I think I watched it hundreds of times. It took about an hour to set everything up and your screen was a white bed sheet on the wall. Classic
i put mine in white paper cd sleeves and store them away in 4 boxes. Easy to hide and store. The sleeves are kept in a couple of large strong envelopes. I don't keep the actual plastic dvd cases as like video, takes up too much room. Especially if you have hundreds of them! I am going to select a few to keep and sell the rest as I can't really justify having that much porn! I'm hoping to burn my fave scenes on a few blanks and sell the originals.
All DVD's go into heavy duty 5" legal binders w/ clear pockets. Each removable page has 2 covers on one side, their respective disc/s on the other, as for how does it get culled? It doesn't. All downloaded porn goes through a stringent process of scrutiny, much like cocacoladdict's humorous method above, but using virtual folders instead of actual DVD's! While I've lost some tear jerkers, the fatty boner material, eventually separates from the timeless, must-burn keepers. Edited by - Endless Loop on 6/21/2008 4:14:54 PM
I'm asking myself the same question. I will not buy more hard-disk because that only encourages lack of discipline. I plan to convert the best stuff to standalone-playable compilation DVD's, and delete the junk, and become very selective about future downloads. The selectivity will greaty reduce the volume, as my new criteria are extremely specific. Biggest issue is getting a sufficiently powerful computer to handle the DVD authoring duties.
