I've bought some double DVD sets I thought were great and I've bought others that I thought could've easily been one DVD because the second DVD seemed to be mostly filler. I've seen 3 disc movies where one disc was a CD of the movie's music.
What do you think about two disc movies? Who's are worth the extra price? Would you rather see shorter scenes all on one DVD? Have you ever listened to and enjoyed a soundtrack CD to a porn movie? What are some of the "extras" you could live without?

I don't mind lots of BTS, but a soundtrack to a porno? That's fucked up.

It is the trend that is sweeping the porn world. In my opinion the extras in most pornos are worth watching. Majority of the time it is an extra scene, or in Belladonna's case more scenes because one disc just wasn't enough. Hollywoods trend will always be to get as much as you can to and from the consumer on DVDs. I for one will pay the extra five to ten to get certain two disc sets.

I think it is a great idea and I hope more companies follow in this trend. Vivid Alt is a great example of the multidisc sets. They include the movie, the bonus disc, and a cd soundtrack.

Depends what it is. Evil Angel and via extension, Jules Jordan Video do good 2-disc sets.
I've got a few Private ones, though I haven't actually watched the whole things. Unless you count the Private Life of series, which are top quality.
BTS where it's just the cast and crew fucking around are kind of interesting occasionally, but mostly twaddle. Soundtracks are pointless to me,

I can't remember how many times I've had some clown next to me at a stoplight cranking out a porno soundtrack CD from his tricked out muscle car vibrating my fillings out.

No wait, yes I can, exactly zero.

the only 2 disc sets I've experienced are the ones given to me as a reviewer, if I had actually purchased them, I would have been disappointed, since it's just content that could have easily fit onto one dual layer dvd.
I read that RLD is now including free full length bonus discs of presumably older content ,I'd love it if all companies started doing that, it's getting 2 for the price of one.

Thanks. I'm glad to hear that I wasn't the only one who thinks including a CD soundtrack to a porno is kinda strange. I freely admit that some porn background music is better than others but not so good I'd want to listen to it on it's own.
As far as 2 disc sets goes, for me it's okay if the second disc has more actual scenes. If it only has "extras" then I feel a bit ripped off if I paid extra money for it. I ususally like BTS stuff but not enough for it to be the centerpiece of a second disc. I generally don't care about the "photo galleries" or "filmologies" or "Websites" and have no use for "contact us" either. Calling that stuff "bonus features" is kinda crappy if someone devoting a whole disc to it. I'm a fan of "trailers/preveiws" so I don't mind seeing as many of those as possible.
I like the idea of a second disc that's a second movie. Vivid does this and gives you an older movie and I think it's always free.

I like the extra discs. Longer scenes = hopefully more variety and angles!

I think it's a good idea, even if it involves old comp footage. Production companies are encouraged to produce comps, since there's a "lowest common denominator" part of the market that wants cheap product with wall to wall sex. This discourages the production of original content since money can be made with little to no production cost.
Packaging these products with original content is good for both the high end consumer (who wants the newest content) and the low end buyer (who just wants a ton of sex and cannot differentiate between old and new.) It's also good for the people that perform.

In 90% of the multi-dvd sets I've seen, they are taking 1 dvd worth of material and squeezing onto 2 or 3 dvds.

BigLou I think you are right. Although I like the BTS, I have never met a two disc set that I liked.

Alpha Blue Archives included the soundtrack for the ultra rare blaxploitation weirdo porn 'Tongue' on their reissue and I love it. But the 'classics' tended to have better music.

I like multi-disc sets only if it means less compression on the Feature Presentation disc. What's the point of "Shot in Hi Def" if you're gonna cram it on one disc with a bunch of trailers and bonus scenes?
