Some of the HD videos have sizes of 6 or more GB, which quickly eats up space. Do you guys just buy bigger external drives? Has anyone tried Dropbox for it? Topic Moved by - flash on Oct 16 2015
If you monitor the special sales at the various e-tailers (such as tigerdirect, for example) you can buy storage fairly reasonably priced. And Black Friday is here soon. For the cloud storages such as DropBox, keep in mind you have to upload your files to their server, which may be a very slow process, depending on your internet service upload speed. Usually, your upload speed is only a fraction of your download speed.
I have a 2 TB external hard drive and so far I haven't filled it up. But a lot my files are standard definition vids and I think I might be a little more picky about my downloads then the average porn fan. This should be moved to Tech Talk.
Currently, my PC has 3 bays for additional internal hard drives (besides the standard C drive). I had a 2TB external drive that was filling up (ever since I started my rotation of monthly porn subscriptions at various sites). So, I recently ordered a 6TB internal drive, that should keep me need deep in porn for awhile. If that fills up, still have the two other bays. As for hiding my porn drive? I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Like Ninja said, uploading to the cloud would take some time. Plus, it's nice having quick access when the mood strikes. So, I would prefer getting bigger/additional drives. And the size of drives are getting bigger and bigger every year. WD & Seagate must know the deal. :)

Goldstein bought one of those abandoned suburban shopping malls in the rust belt that you read about in the papers, and has about 90% of the floorspace filled with racked external drives. The Cinnabon store has been reopened with a skeleton crew because it makes the whole place smell nice, and the former Sears Tire Center is being reserved for future use as an editing bay.
Ok thanks all! The Black Friday plus Tigerdirect/Newegg is a good idea. I used to have a 120GB external drive and it took a long time to fill up with 500MB vids, but now some Jules Jordan vids are 6 GB each!
Obviously, it's a huge advantage if you don't mind watching SD (as I don't) - you can store so much more. I have numerous external drives ranging in size from 250-500 gigs; currently on my eighth (and, I keep telling myself, last). Wouldn't wanna risk the huge loss of using anything larger, should it go down. My DVDs, though...man, they're a millstone. Even without boxes, those fuckers take up some serious space. Ripping them to digital storage is completely un-doable, though - I just have way too many (something in the region of 3000 as an estimate). Feel my pain.
