Personally I hate short scenes. I've noticed in the last few years sites and scenes that are like 15, 20 minutes long and I don't like it all because it means very few positions, certain times just a few seconds of a position, no changes in camera angles... simply because there's no time for that in scenes that short, especially if there's some also some story before the action. I don't pretend that it should necessarily be like in japanese porn, where two performers can used to do a whole movie that lasts three hours, but I'd love to see scenes lasting 45 minutes/1 hour. Even because I don't think there are great added costs to make a video of an hour compared to one that is just fifteen minutes long. Or am I wrong? 30 minutes should be the bare minimum in my opinion, but of course it's my opinion.

This is good question. For me, it depends on what kind of scene it is. For example, a massage scene (GG in particular as I don't really watch BG ones but I suppose it could apply TO BG ones as well) they have to be at the bare minimum 35 minutes. That's because I usually skip to the sex as I have literally no desire to watch the massage bit and on average they take at least 10 minutes (usually more) on it so if you get a scene that's 20-25 minutes it's pretty much a waste.
Back in the day, movies were 75-80 minutes with multiple scenes. Nowadays, anything over 10minutes I either skip through or fall asleep . It take 90 minutes to boink a chick in the backdoor? turning scenes into movies is crazy. 2 minute setup, 8 minutes boinking and call it a day. Put 6 of those badboys on a Blu-ray and take my money.
Yeah, go tell that to Bela Tarr. And we're talking about porn. There are those who want more angles, more positions, not just few seconds of a position, maybe not just one single set, because a scene could use not just a bed but also a chair, a couch, the floor, mirrors etc.
Aside from the fact that we clearly have very different point of views, what are the sites producing scenes under 10 minutes? Because even I that I don't like short scenes I can't think of even a single site making scenes that short. Certainly not a single mainstream site.
I'll tell her. It's porn and yeah there might be extra footage lying around, but it's called the cutting room floor for a reason. While I'm speaking for myself, I will note that every remote has a fast forward button. 30 minutes of doggy going from the bed to the chair to the couch to the floor to looking in the mirror is called filler material.

As said, the regular porn movie can last easily more than two hours. If you think that more porn in a porn movie is a filler, I'm not sure what you don't consider a filler. If there's a part in a scene of an hour and I use the forward button I still have a lot to watch, if you use the forward button in a very short scene there's nothing more to watch. I mean, if I'm buying for a scene I want more of it, while it seems you're like "oh no, give me less for my money please". Unless you're a producer that wants to make shorter scenes because it's less demanding in terms of time, I don't get it.
This matter use to come up in the old Girlsway forum. The subscribers there use to call for long scene in the neighborhood of 45 minutes & beyond. Of course, that was g/g porn & nobody was ejaculating.
it's not necessarily about something being a filler, it may be simply something I have no particular interest in it, while other person can like that. For instance, I like to see the faces of performers, so I don't like certain camera angles or close ups because of this reason. But there are apparently other people who love close ups and camera angles where you can't see the faces. I'm not a big fan of spoon while I like for instance reverse cowgirl, there are other persons who love spoon but don't like reverse cowgirl. It doesn't have anything to do with those things being fillers, it's just a personal preference.
I'm with you. My favorite movies were ones that had a lot of sex, and back then a typical scene was 5-10 minutes.
Sometimes, I'll download scenes, edit them down to shorter lengths, and then save the shorter films. I prefer to watch multiple scenes in a single session.
Porn DVDs in their heyday usually had 4 scenes. Assuming decent video quality mattered to the companies, 2 hours would be the approximate running time so each scene would be around 30 minutes.
That still seems to be the standard though sometimes you have scenes in the 20s or 40s.
20 minute range is fine if there's minimal cuts (edits) and no intro. A lot of the 30-40 minute scenes usually have a tease or an intro of seducing or picking up the girl or Q&A with the talent, so that's potentially 5-10 minutes of non-sex.
Some of the True X DVDs I own have scenes lasting 50 minutes to 1 hour long and yeah there definitely could be some trimming down.
I'm likely in the minority but I can't fully enjoy my physical media until I know it works properly first (no damage, glitches, etc) so longer scenes are kind of a chore to get through the first time. With streaming or downloaded files I'll skip to my favorite parts so it's less common for me to watch scenes from start to finish uninterrupted vs on DVD (or Blu-ray)
Most modern scenes are shot on digital cameras but when things were shot on film, more minutes = more filmstock = higher costs so unless it was a feature that's likely why scenes were at a lower fixed time limit.
Technically nothing preventing modern scenes from being longer but digital cameras and their cards have a storage limit before having the data be emptied/transferred or a new card swapped.
Also don't forget that a few minutes of footage was probably substantially longer in real-time. A 30 minute scene could've taken several hours or half a day to shoot with breaks, lighting set-ups or waiting for the male talent to get an erection again
