| Dr Mercies Member 36 Posts 7/14 | Admiral, I appreciate all your support. Our sites are niche, so it's good folks like you who keep us going. Haven't been through these parts in years, but was just passing by and saw this thread, so allow me to address our update frequency. First off, Assylum and company is more committed than ever to producing unique and top-notch content. But yes, there's been a tradeoff between quantity and quality. I understand that many people prefer more frequent updates and will certainly respect their decision not to sign up or stay around if that's what they seek. Porn is a vast landscape these days, so each to their own. That's why we have different companies and sites. So why the drop in update frequency? Two reasons: content focus and the demands of our newer site, Domthenation. In regard to content focus, we've made a decision to focus on hard content, and so we work primarily with a small group of regular models who love the site and enjoy extreme BDSM. Sometimes, it's not obvious to viewers just how exceptional our content and models can be. For example, in Rebel Rhyders' Psycho-Analysis scene, she's doing electrical play that is safe and tailored to BDSM but at a level that only a few models I'm aware of could handle and enjoy. This is especially true for a woman hanging in a strenuous suspension that uses her pussy as a support point. When you add in the rough anal sex, I know of no other models on the planet who'd be right for such a scene. I've personally made the decision to reduce content quantity to make the scenes we are focusing on, and to make them with the most appropriate models for the content. We've also been moving toward intellectual and artistic elements that co-exist with the rough sex and fetishes in our scenes. That's not everyone's cup of tea, I understand, but we have a strong core of viewers who appreciate this since it doesn't exist anywhere else. We really do read from Being and Time when you see that on the site, and we really were playing Herman Hesse's Glass Bead Game (which literary theorists have been puzzling over how to play for decades), when you see that. We work with a small core of models for these scenes, which further limits scene quantity. In regard to Domthenation, this site takes an extraordinary amount of time and resources that is also not obvious to most viewers. For example, in Night of the Fallen Stars with Nuria, you'll see a glowing ball in her ass that she is able to twinkle like a star as we film her under the night sky with other stars. Well, that's just a ball, right? Nope. We spent weeks with two vendors creating that little ball. One vendor made a custom silicone formula that would glow brightly in the dark without any color shift, and another made the mold. That little ball took three people and dozens of hours. Next, to film the scene, we had to find a mountain in the middle of nowhere, where it was warm enough to film, because it's almost impossible to capture the stars on video even in the dimmest of conditions. We also couldn't shoot with much light, or we'd outshine the stars. So we needed to get new cameras and build custom rigs just for this scene. We had to film at ISO 51,200 and f1.4 in a raw codec on external SSDs. The footage was 5.7TB, which we made two copies of overnight. After the shoot, in post-production, we had to mask the sky throughout the entire video to adjust the gain of the stars separately from the rest of the image. This kind of work means this one Domthenation scene took more labor than over a dozen scenes from the days we only shot in the same lighting setup in a studio on SD cards. Unfortunately, our company is too small to take a full crew to a mountaintop or have a full-time postproduction team, so that means we are spread thin. Domthenation and Assylum are quite different. So some people who enjoy Assylum might be annoyed that Domthenation is taking so many resources. And vice versa. But that is what it is. So, overall, our business has shifted for all the above reasons, but our passion and commitment to the work is only stronger. There's something out there for everyone, and I respect folks who prefer more updates or our older way of shooting. But we're still here and working harder than ever. I can't promise you guys weekly updates or anything close to that anymore, but I can promise that every scene is precious to me and made with love. Just wanted to clarify that. Best to all... | rearadmiral All-Star Member 6510 Posts 12/11 | I'll reiterate that for anyone with an interest in BDSM that Assylum, Slave Mouth, and Dom the Nation are all sites you should consider joining if you haven't already. This isn't cookie-cutter BDSM. Take the site tours and you'll immediately see what I mean. And just because, I'll say that naming a favourite Assylum scene is something I won't even attempt to do. There are faaaaaar too many to choose from. But I will single out a couple. Your scene with Olivia Kasady (now credited as Angel Amour) titled "Team Painal" is amazing. Good God, having her jump around in a cheerleader outfit giving hyper-sexualized cheers while her lower colon is filled with your pee is unlike anything else I've ever seen. You were such a gentleman by letting her use a butt plug to help her hold your pee inside. There's also something about Leah Winters' scene called "No Rest Room" where you shoot the scene in a bathroom. I'm a fan of Leah and can't really say what draws me to this scene, but a big part of it is the utter joy that Leah shows at eating your ass. Anyone reading this may find that odd, but subscribe and watch the scene and you'll see what I mean. It's obvious that Leah is deeply loving this scene. And when it comes to a model who loves eating ass, Rebel Rhyder needs to be mentioned. In her scene "My Shelter is my Submission," early on you've just peed in a bucket and then you turn around and have Rebel alternate by sampling your pee and burying her face in your ass. Viewers can literally feel Rebel's joy at doing this. I haven't written much about Dom the Nation, but it's a great site too. It features some innovative BDSM outdoors. I'll likely give some thought to favourites there and edit this post later. Okay, I didn't intend to turn this post into a lengthy discussion of the three sites, but once I get going, it's hard to stop. Whether I give these sites five out of five stars, two thumbs up, call them Fully Erect, or whatever rating, I recommend that anyone who likes innovative BDSM check them out. Even if you don't watch a lot of BDSM, these sites are well worth touring. The innovation shines through. This may not be necessary to write, but I'm not affiliated with these sites or Dr. Mercies at all. I'm just a longtime fan and supporter. For reference, here are some links to and screenshots from the scenes I've mentioned. (She gets tightly tied down, but the trailer doesn't have a clear shot of this.)
