That's something I'd like to know most, since I'm not an American.

There is also a thread with Christy Canyon, you can jump into. It is located just a few below yours. Who's going to tell you? Christy? Vivid? Sure.... when pigs fly! You are justified to ask, just because you are NOT American? Explain, please... Edited by - Len801 on 1/8/2010 11:20:32 AM
You sure? No disrespect to Christy but I don't think porn stars became millionaires back in her time. May be different now, what with merchandise, the Internet, and other spin-offs. It's just my opinion, but I reckon all she would have got was about $500 per scene. I could be wrong, and it is just my opinion.

Working under contract is not the same as "pay for hire" shooting scenes for a number of different companies. When you are under contract, that means you work exclusively for THAT company and no one else. That type of exclusivity costs. Then you are contracted to do a number of movies for them within a specific time period (1 year, 2 years, etc). You may also be contracted to do certain things, besides what you think you want to do (anal, b/g for instance, etc). Then you are also bound to make certain appearances at trade shows, signings, etc, publicity stills and photo shoots to publicize your films, the company merchandise, etc. So when you look at the final figure, it is hard to determine what the actress actually earned for shooting a specific scene in a specific movie, since there are many other factors that are involved. When you read about the amount of big money Jenna made, you have a better understanding how it worked. Edited by - Len801 on 1/8/2010 12:11:38 PM

If you are well known, you can make a lot more money stripping than doing adult movies. Amber Lynn did that for several years and made a lot of ,money on the strip circuit. The only problem is you generally have to travel a lot, and your are practically living in a suitcase and deal with different types of people.
Jenna was completely different to Christy though (again, in my view). Jenna became mainstream, appearing on TV chat shows and was popular in glossy magazines and stuff. I bet she made more money selling her image to this market than she did having sex on camera. Just like Ron Jeremy who has become more than a pornstar. He's an icon who is still featured in mainstream too. And I'd have to agree, I bet he's a millionaire.
I know Christy would be on the road about 30 weeks a year in her prime. It was a pleasure to meet her a couple of times.

Jenna was a partner in a porno company, with her husband, that was later sold to Playboy. She is without question the most successful performer, as far as earnings or the accumulation of wealth is concerned. No one has become a millionaire from either performing in porn or dancing period.

It's not so much how much they make, but what they do with it. Read Christy's book. Most of Christy's porn money went to support the porn lifestyle. The coke and the clothes were the biggies. It wasn't until the concept of feature dancing comes into the picture that she was making any real money, and that's about where the book ended, toss in a hubby that wants to spend the $$ to maintain the lifestyle also, and away it all goes. It was all cash in, cash out. It's no different today. A girl starts getting those $1000 checks and immediately go outs and starts the high end lifestyle. The designer bags, sunglasses etc etc. I remember watching a Leah Luv scene and she showed up at the door with a Louis Vitton purse. Since Leah was more of a grinder and not a big star, one could surmise that one scene in her career paid for that purse. One of my former employees was a really sweet girl of roughly 22. She started stripping at 19 in Vegas. Danced at the Rhino. Did that for a few years, but it seemed that every night after work her BF always wanted to host a party. Of course, since she was flush with cash, she paid for the meth. She posed in High Society. After a few years, she dumped the guy when he wanted her to do porn, kicked the meth, went to UNLV and was working a normal job. I asked her what she had to show for all the cash she made stripping and she said, "Absolutely nothing!" There was a thread on here last summer about the downfall of the porn industry and they featured a girl who was a fairly popular name, and it talked about her money woes. One of the 1st things she picked up with porn cash was a Benz, and it was one of the first things that went when the porn cash left, now she's driving a beater that her parents got for her.
Feature dancing makes a lot of money. A friend knew Raquel Darrians Body guard back in the day, we saw here here at a club when she was peaking. According to him it was $15,000 for the week show up money, place to stay (this place had a condo for feature dancers, love to be that fuckin neihbor!), she dance 3 sets a night, place was packed, we guesstimated $200 to $400 per set in tips thrown on the stage, I know i throw 3 10s, one for each song myself, She did at least 50 personal pics at $25, Long story short, he said she made $25K a week EASY! And from what I saw, that looked EASY! Never seen Chrissy dance, but I suspect it was no different.
Two internet articles have it that Christy may be making a comeback, but with very little or no feasibility for now. If she needed big money, however, does not she had better resume feature dance rather than make a comeback? For when she makes nearly the same boring movies without either anal or facial as before, even her fans will be disappointed and even speak ill of her. I've gotten very tired of her routine scenes. I don't think that she will do, all things considered. Edited by - persia on 1/11/2010 5:56:17 AM
Is a rumor with little feasibility a rumor? I'd bet money against this happening.

She has not made a movie in about 15 years. A lot of the young males frequenting the strip clubs may not be familiar with her, and her age does does not help. So she may not get top dollar going on a dance circuit. With regards to her porn movie comeback, that remains to be seen whether it's just trial balloons, rumors, or for real. But it is a sure bet she will probably be doing the same type of scenes as before if that ever happens.

Actually rates are down across the board in the industry and I'd bet that applies to the dance circuit as well. there is also the problem women face of doing too much too soon. By this I mean if a chick starts off in the biz doing double ass fuck ass to mouth scenes and such her rates aren't going to be nearly as high and she won't make nearly as much money is she starts out only doing lesbian scenes, then moves on to boy/girl etc.
