Does anybody have any first hand information on this? Do they make a flat fee only, flat fee + % of sales, only % of sales? Is financing for the shoot usually provided by the production company (PXP, EA etc..) or would a director have to upfront the money from their own pockets, then deliver finished scenes to the distributor? Most legit studios will put the production money up front if it's work for hire; the way Porn Valley works, if you shoot something on your dime & try to sell it, company owners will try to sniff out how desperate you are to make back your investment, & lowball you as much as possible. (BTW, the above doesn't reflect my own price structure, because I not only shoot my own camera, as a good gonzo director should, but I also edit & score my own shows, including bonus scenes, BTS & trailers) Edited by - dac on 9/8/2004 11:54:46 PM Edited by - dac on 9/8/2004 11:57:19 PM |
