i don't think we're talking much money yet off AEBN(SmutNetwork) or Gamelink's VOD. Producers don't get paid anything upfront, they get paid a percentage of the revenue generated by their movies. You are competing with hundreds of studios so unless you have a big library of movies you won't make much money. I'm sure they are writing a lot of $3.67 type checks out to people.
maybe in the future VOD streaming and downloadable movies will be a major form of revenue for studios ....
