I have been a passive follower of the board for a couple of years, mostly following the threads on some of my favourite performers. The reason I have registered myself eventually is the recent economic threat to the industry through online piracy and especially tube sites. I am a complete outsider to the industry apart from being a consumer. Having a professional background in marketing and finance though I have been thinking about possible solutions to the problem of content theft for a while. There is one approach to porn marketing that could at least partially remediate the losses caused by content theft. The approach has been used in other industries but lends itself quite naturally to the adult movie industry. Surprisingly, as far as I can see nobody has ever applied it to pornographic content yet. It is especially suitable for larger studios or content providers. I'd be very interested to get in touch and in discussions with some industry people, preferably, by PM first. Note to the Mods: If this post is considered some sort of inappropriate self-promotion please feel free to remove it. I think, though, I may be able to help prevent blatant theft and restore well-deserved revenue for the people who work for it. Cause I love my occasional porn flick and I can only imagine how much hard work and effort is put into the production. So in case you’re interested just sent me a PM here on the board. LCF  All-Star Member Non Prevalebunt! 10364 Posts 1/05 | Posted - Dec 26 2011 : 8:34AM nor did the music industry for that matter , videogame producers found a way although not conclusive , you need a pass to unblock some features for example your online games or even some extra already in your disc need a pass to work (Batman Arkham City has 4 levels to play with Catwoman but you need a pass) that way they can detect a modified console or in some cases a ripped disc so that they can suspend the account other than to sue a couple offenders (I think is of no use and might attract hatred to producers), it would be a good Idea to put extras on original movies , coupons or signed pictures or randomly placed tickets to events or Feature Dancing of stars. other things maybe for example a serial number can be put to mark each online content exclusively pairing that with downloader's IP so that those who download it cannot distribute it without being identified.Something similar to a DRM code but with no necessity to unblock the file. it would be easier not to prosecute the downloaders but the uploaders preventing a provider would block tons of downloads and they are way less than the downloaders. Be aware though that there are some programs meant to hack ID and Pass from sites trying thousands of combinations til they find a working one so that a pirate can literally empty the site with another user account hiding his actual IP behind a proxy. I was victim of one of those and lost my account after 10 days membership , the form to report this had a bug so that I was unable to get another pass.
