Quick question here (showing off my lack of technical skills...LOL):

When I added my pic and try to keep my location (Los Angeles) it formats itself very sloppily. The "Los" is up on the line with the pic and "Angeles" is on the next line.

How can I get the "Los" to not start until the next line so it is all underneath the pic?

I don't know babe, but at least at the moment it draws the eye away from the fact you've actually written 'Los Angles' heh heh

SNP,

Now that is funny!!! LOL

I never noticed that- no wait - what I meant to say was:

That was an intentional act designed to confuse all stalkers into searching desperately for the great city of Los Angles while all the time remaining safely in the one place they would never think to look....Hmmm... sounds a little better; just not sure if is believable...LOL

Thank SNP for your kind help in improving myself; I will double my efforts to get you your first threesome as a reward. I can not, however, promise there will be any Eskimos, glue sniffing, polar bears, or giant icebergs involved.

Or should I have written: "skeemos, glu snifeng, poler beers, or gient isburgs" to remain more in keeping with the level of my current writing? LOL

Selena,

That's a great question. I've been having the same problem with the text under my avatar, too.

When you wrote,

I found myself momentarily gnashing my teeth in envy . . . until I read more closely and realized that you weren't actually offering to be SNP's initiator into this realm of experience. If you were offering him this "sentimental education", of course, my teeth-gnashing would recommence, and with greatly increased intensity.

Still, the idea of your acting strictly as a threesome matchmaker, a kind of charitable endeavor for the benefit of all us horny guys and gals on ADT, still exerts a certain undeniable appeal!

Your teeth would have been gnashing!! How do you think I would feel? I mean, I can live with pretty women not offering to fuck me but to receive an offer from thousands of miles away given that I would have no hope of taking it up would be too much for me to bear!!

Of course the joke is, in fact, on me because now you have corrected the spelling anybody else stumbling across this thread will wonder what the fuck I've been smoking!!

BTW Selena, why not make your avatar clickable so it links to your yahoo group or bio/booking info page??

Bob, If I chose to initiate SNP into the wonderful world of threesomes, I would then be forced to invite so many of my ADT friends to do the same it would turn into one giant "moresome" and I am not sure the world is ready for skronker, big ferret, syberscott, SNP, Darth-Morpheous, Denver Don, Frigo, Ramsey, Mythsong, Icefloe, Brandon, RobHammer, and you to be all in one room at the same time... naked. I just scared even myself! LOL Oh, and, of course... I would never do anything to upset Mrs. Ferret.

***Please note, I did NOT include Drew in this possible group activity for fear of him banning me from ADT***

Of course, I could be talked into perhaps helping all ADT threesome virgins experience it for the very first time.... I could be like the ADT matchmaker. Do you think that should become an official position?

SNP said:

Damn!!! I shouldn't have admitted it at all!!!

I don't know what you are talking about, SNP? My avatar is clickable- it takes you straight to my Yahoo Group. *wink*

Now, is anyone going to tell me how to fix my problem or are you all just going to make fun of me and hit me up for threesomes? (joking)

SelenaSilver,

To possibly answer your original question:

Edit your profile, and in the location after the img command for your avatar pic, try inserting a short line of periods - but put a blank space (space bar) before and after the string of periods.

Try about six or seven to begin with. When you are successful you should end up with your avatar pic, a short string of periods, ....... but that should be enough to push the Los onto the second line with Angeles.

You can try it anyway.

Might try the list command, the bullet might push the Los onto the next line.

replace <> with []

<list>
<*>Los Angeles
</list>

Edit: I hate it when I think of something else after I hit submit.

You can try making the pic the first thing in the bulleted list, and your location the second thing. That would automatically put the location one line down.

<list>
<*>Pic
<*>Location
</list>

Or, you can simply make your pic wider....

As Anteros said, "I hate it when I think of something else after I hit submit" - (or when I wake up the next morning).

Something else you might try Salena, paraticularly with Los Angeles;

Put in Los Angeles with an underline between them, such as Los_Angeles. Computer programs will read that as one word, not two, and it will be too long following your pic so it will be thrown down to the next line.

Profile's are kind of tricky... because with some tags, you have to enter them with HTML tags < > but then they get converted to forum tags [ ] and then you kind of have to mess around with them to get them right.

In any case, a somewhat simpler solution to your problem, Selena, would be to add a line break:

after your image tag, and before the "Los Angeles, CA" this should bring the entire "Los Angeles, CA" to the line below your image. This goes for you too Bob.

I know it works, I've tested it, but you have to enter it as above with the < >, and it will automatically convert it to [ ] once submitted. If you enter it with the [ ] it won't recognize it and it will be discarded.

Don't anybody go too crazy with this, of course. Don't want to have profile locations that go on forever... :)

The forum software wasn't written with avatars in mind. It's actually a bit of a fluke that they work at all. Someday I'll get around to writing something better to handle the avatars.

Thanks, Mike!

Maybe now you would be kind enough tell me how you got the "< br >" text to appear in your post without the extra spaces that I needed to insert in order to have it appear in mine (because ADT's forum software seems to recognize it, without spaces, only as code!!!).

You can always use < with BR then > as one phrase to look like

Edited by - flash on 8/17/2003 3:59:17 PM

Apparently not, what works in the preview box is apparently not always what one gets actually posted in the forum. I guess I'll let MLyons field this one.

Edited by - flash on 8/17/2003 4:02:59 PM

Edited again to add this post was stupid to begin with since had it worked Bob would have seen < and > instead of the character set.

Thank you everyone for all your help! :)

Now, I am happy because I have learned to spell, I don't have an annoying broken line in my avatar, and I know that I would be able to have a threesome with anyone in this group. :)

Thanks DD for being the first one to actually post a solution. LOL

See everyone in chat Wednesday!

Flash kind of touched on the answer, except that he's tried to make it much more complex than it is.

The forum preview function doesn't interpret the tags quite the same as the actual forum does... :)

Therefore, if you simply type it as it looks:

::MLyons waves his magic wand::

The preview window will half interpret it as HTML (it will not display the actual tag, but it will ignore the instruction the tag represents as well). However, the forum itself will not recognize the tag and will simply show the code without interpretation.

As Drew touched on, we might be doing things with the forum and the "location" area that it wasn't really designed to do. Therefore--that we've gotten our tricked out fancy stuff to work at all is kind of surprising. :)
