I take an owner's DVD and filter out the parts that he/she (usually it's for a couple) does not want to see. Along with the original DVD, they send me a list of the type of thing that they want me to filter. The list can be general, which allows them to request a filtered version without having to even view the original. I do the filtering and return it with the original DVD. It's a hobby. I've found it's the only good answer to having a couple's version of an XXX rated DVD. I've found that the most common filter item is the 'prerequisite' lesbian scene. Next is what I call the 'balls and butts' camera angles shots in the middle of a scene. Another observation - Films produced prior to 1990 are the best candidates. They have the least amount of material to be filtered and (I guess) they are more popular since they usually have something of a storyline with dialog. But that's a subject of discussion on other threads. Current 'editing' software makes it relatively simple to do a seamless job (a variety of transition effects are available other than the ubiquitous 'fade'). I can filter out complete scenes, portions of a scene or just a few frames. Sometimes I've even been able to edit out parts of dialog as little as two to three seconds in length if the image portion of the frame doesn't change during that time. [Link] |
