| Gof Member United Kingdom 151 Posts 4/03 | Firstly, both the US Administration and the UK Government convinced there public to support the war based on the false premise that Sadam had so-called Weapons of Mass Destruction and was a threat to the US and the UK. This reason for going to war has since proved to have been fallacious. Secondly, I'm tired of the view that any critcism of the war is some how unpatriotic or disrespects the troops over in the Gulf. Criticism over the government's policy, or 'free speech', is exactly what a healthy, free democracy is about, and is the reason why we are all able to watch and talk about pornography. Finally therefore, Jules Jordan has the same right as everyone else to criticise the hypocricy of Bush and Blair and, quite frankly, the world would be a better place if we made more love not war. |
