More and more scenes are made with white backgrounds, white light, white furniture, soft camera-lenses .... Almost EVERYTHING is white.. even the girls seem to be milky white

I hate people who ignore the image policy.
More and more people seem to think they're too important to read or abide by rules in place to keep this site on the good side of the law and some people reckon they're clever enough to exploit loopholes by censoring hardcore images.

Maybe you have more guilty parties but as far as I know only the people who shoot for legal porno are guilty of this on a regular basis. Most of the others tend to have white backgrounds but the furniture is normally of a different color. I find it next to impossible to get sexually stimulated by the LP stuff because of their style of porn that I am really glad I don't have a membership. The other people do use soft lenses but my theory is that they do so to try and hide skin blemishes that are on the girls body and which are now made impossible to miss with the advent of HD videos and a total lack of makeup professionals on porn sets. I don't mind the soft lenses because I dislike looking at pimples, razor burns and bruises on the girls.

I notice this mostly in the flowery art-porn X-Art, PassionHD, Nubiles, Porn Pros and stuff of that ilk. Personally I think it feels more glossy and artificial than it does intimate or passionate, but people must be liking this style, or else There wouldn't be some many carbon copy sites pushing the same thing.

Big Wet Asses series by Elegant Angel - just an expanse of white. Even the box covers are white. Yawn. Next!
By the way, Jiggly, I thought your attack on the OP was somewhat harsh. Maybe he just acted in ignorance. I've had images removed in the past - it most definitely wasn't because I was trying to be clever or circumvent the image policy. They were just genuine, honest mistakes. That's what the mods are there for.

I've been saying how much I hate the new sterile background style of the industry. There is no fantasy when the sex is taking place in an area that simply doesn't exist in everyday life. I find the old ass man and euro angels hardball vids, WAAAY more sexy. Why? it is insanely nasty sex taking place in an environment that we can all relate to. The lighting isn't some no shadow washed out look. You can see the girl's curves along with whatever juices are present. Its loong past due for the industry to move away from its white out obsession.

About soft lenses...
It is a different pornographic style. All styles have its pros and cons. Photographers use this in order to beautify the performers and eliminate any imperfections. Plus they want to give a more sensual tone to the scene.
I personally don't have any problem with it, on the contrary I like it sometimes because it gives a character, as long of course as it doesn't exceed too much because it neutralizes the HD quality advantages and kills the "hardcoreness" as a sexual element.
About white backgrounds... They use it in order to eliminate the viewers distraction and focus on the sex scene instead. Plus it helps the color contrast levels and the light shadings. Sometimes though, it gets boring, eye tiring and cold.
What can I say... my general belief is that porn like all video shows in general are all about diversity, measure, timing and mood.
Diversity: Is essential for the adult viewers not to get bored and to have more pornographic options to choose from.
Measure: To keep all levels at satisfying grades in order to be able to keep more clients happy.
Timing: Deciding the proper time to apply any photographic or artistic intervention in order not to spoil the recipe.
As for mood I don't think something can be done there. This is totally subjective. Sometimes you are in a mood to see something sometimes you are in a mood to see something else.

Meanwhile... Explore Sexuality!

It's ironic how porn in the past, shot in SD, has more detail than the stuff today that is in HD.

I think your use of the word flowery to describe their content is probably not the correct one to use because for all intents and purposes their content is mostly gonzo porn. These sites have tried to make gonzo porn look like vanilla porn but a true vanilla porn fan will teel you that they have failed because gonzo can never be made vanilla. Look at the names they give themselves to create the illusion that they make a more vanilla type of porn. X-art and Passion HD make you think that you are about to see something that is solely missing in most of todays porn. There is very little art or passion in their content. It's mostly b/g porn with a slower pace, less extreme acts(except for facials) and an illusion that there is actual passion happening between the performers but that last one almost never looks real. probably because we are looking at gonzo porn and passion is not something that gonzo is able to generate.

^^Maybe the OP should name the websites he or she is critiquing. To my mind Legal Porno scenes looking nothing like those of the "flowery" gonzo sites that some have mentioned, such as X-Art. LP's scenes are not shot in soft-focus.

^True but they are definitely guilty of the first two. I mean white furniture, white room and bright lights is basically what very LP scene has in it.

^Their lighting looks pretty normal to me. LP scenes have never had the bathed in light look prevalent in some of the other sites mentioned.

As long as the girl isn't "whited out," I don't care about how bright the background is or what color the furniture is. If there's excessive white light on the girl to where you can't even see her natural skin tone, that's something that'll ruin a scene for me.

I was not refering to LP. I was more revering to Nubiles ... those kind of sites.
They have some decent scenes but the white light/furniture and soft filming turnes me off.
And most of those sites hire skinny girls with pale skin. (But that's another story)

I like the white backgrounds. Most sets are very expensive and ugly houses or warehouses. Minimize the distractions and stay focused on hot sex.

BangBros just released a scene today with a white couch. Interracial, real dark black guy and real light, skinny white girl. The couch made the contrast more apparent, but hilariously made it impossible to see the cumshot... I guess a facial with a white couch in the background isn't a good idea.

I totally agree!!!!! What the hell is up with this trend for porn set in white clinical rooms with an artificial atmosphere??? It feels like sex in a laboratory, set inside some creepy billionaire's mansion. This science-porn trend is spreading like the plague and I fear that this is just the beginning of this epidemic. Noooooooooooooo!

I dont mind so much white light or furniture in a controled enviroment. Is just a matter of taste. But what i cant stand is overexposure. Sometimes theres so much light u cant see a thing. Case in point, certain director who shots all his scenes in an attic. And now with that white curtain is even worst!

I don't have any problem with "white" backgrounds and furniture.
HOWEVER, I hate when the cumshot gets ruined, because the camera/director frames the cumshot (typically a facial with cum flying through the air) against a white background.
I want to see the the cum fly, and the white background frequently washes it out.
Porn 101: Try framing the cumshot with more emphasis on the girl and her face -- instead of from a "camera" sitting on a tabletop halfway across the room shooting into a white background.
Soft camera-lenses and focus have their place, as does moody dark lighting, but it isn't in porn!
I want to see the action, the girl, the cock and the cumshot in the clearest possible -- properly lit -- highest definition possible!
There is no excuse for harsh white lighting.
Everything looks better in "natural light" as opposed to harsh white.
And, I'm not talking about natural sunlight here (which can be great when someone who knows what they're doing is filming it).
There are many lighting options (i.e. types of bulbs) that provide a natural, full-spectrum color palette. There are even fluorescent bulbs engineered for "natural" light, instead of the cheap, harsh-white bulbs you find in supermarkets and big-box stores (although I bet that they utilize higher-quality "natural" lighting in the meat and produce areas).
When I was in the piano business, we paid for and used the more expensive "natural" light fluorescent bulbs, because they made the furniture, color and wood-tones look their best.
News flash... skin looks better with "natural" light, too.
And, while we're on the subject...
STOP shooting scenes, particularly facial cumshots, with the camera shooting directly into the sun
Natural sunlight: good
Try getting it behind the camera, so that it beautifully illuminates the girl, instead of washing-out the scene.
Duh?

I absolutely despise this. I miss the days when porn scenes were allowed to have realistic lighting and would take place in an everyday environment. Instead we get bullshit million dollar homes with sterile lighting and furniture. I think of the old assman/debauchery/euro angels movies were they were doing some super nasty shit, but in every day environments that the average viewer actually lives in. Example: Making a girl gape while having sex in what looks like a normal common living room. It gives breath to a fantasy that any female you see walking down the street, could be an ass freak. I wish they'd go back to having the starlets dress in regular "non tease" attire before the sex gets started. Seeing a female who's dressed normal, but then goes on to do ATM is also something that lends itself to the fantasy.

Exactly, it actually ruins the fantasy of porn. I like it when porn feels like it could actually happen and isn't staged in these artificial environments that these girls would never be in. None of us live in these million dollar homes and seeing these babes in there doesn't feel right. A down and dirty cheap hotel, a backroom office or a regular house or apartment is fine. The producers/directors seem to be portraying a fantasy that they think is hot and that fans would like, but it is just seriously annoying and distracting!

exactly. Back in the day, when you saw a special environment with checkered floors and the girls started the scene in "sexy costumes", you know some real shit was about to go down. Today, EVERY scene is like that.

I think it is also laziness. A lot of these "WHITE" scenes use the same set, start the same way with the girl already naked or in fake lingerie and there's no tease or personality or public build up to the action, to warm you into it. These sterile white scenes require less effort, less locations, less expenses and can be banged out without thought or imagination. To the jaded folks producing it, that suits them just fine. Sadly, it's the fans that they are selling this bland, homogenized product to that ultimately suffer. I think we'll be seeing a lot more of it though.

Led lights are the big thing now, and daylight temperature lights have a tendency to give flesh tones an unattractive look. The old rule of beware of white walls seems to be lost on pornographers. Lastly, due to the prevalence of dslrs, the shallow depth of field look is in, yet many pornographers seem to forget that not all films have (or have to have) crazy shallow focus.

Not a fan of the ugly, tacky hotel rooms of yore, sorry. I'm in favour of diversity and some glamour is fine. If you're going to do something grimey go whole hog like early Mason or Gillis, not the visual dreck that makes so much 90s porn unwatchable.

I didn't say i want "grimey". I just want more realistic lighting. Believe it or not, making it so there are no shadows anywhere in the scene actually hides a lot of the female's form.

100% agree. These fucking porn mansions all these studios shoot in really turn me off from watching porn altogether. It's so fucking boring and bland and I can't relate to it at all because I don't own a million dollar home.
Adding white furniture to the picture only serves to further alienate viewers like me. [xx)]

I think that in older porn (90's and earlier 2000's) we maybe had lower video quality but better, warmer, richer and often darker colours.
And nowadays... Yes... A lot of time the video is too bright.
I'm just waiting to see some director make a movie with white furniture, with pornstars dressed all in white with male actors wearing white condoms.
It could be titled: Angel's Paradise.

I get why so many of you are tired of this style.
At the same time, I love to see pee scenes in front of white backgrounds. So many sites shooting straight porn this way that people are complaining, but so few shooting pee scenes this way? I never understood that. Yeah, there are LegalPorno.com and FullyClothedPissing.com with white backgrounds, but I am thinking more of the artistic type of site. X-Art plus pissing.
I'm not a big fan of the soft lenses, but I do like the soft lighting in this type of scene. I even like the milky skin tones that result from the lighting. I just want to see models take such a sterile, airy, heavenly setting and defile it with their piss.

I like bright lighting and white furniture. It gets rid of all the shadows. But soft lenses really suck. Using them on solos is fine but not on coitus where I want real skin and clear focus. It's hard enough to find clear focus on sights that don't use soft lenses.
