Why I hate Julie Meadows by Theopolis J Billingsworth

Julie,

I hate you for your golden hair
I hate you for those thongs you wear.
I hate you for your porn high class, and most of all that round round ass.

While giving head you look your best and thank you for that solid chest.

Your legs are like candy, your skin is like glass
Thanks for letting Lexington dig up in that ass.

I hate your smile!
I hate you laugh!
It makes me spit seed when I’m in the bath.

I hate you Julie Meadows, I swear I do
I hope that you love me cause I love you too.

Shakespeare? And here I was thinking of Julia Stiles' poem at the end of 10 Things I Hate About You .

The meter needs work but I wholeheartedly endorse the sentiment.

Kalkutta liegt am Ganges,
Paris liegt an der Seine,
doch dass ich so verliebt bin,
das liegt an Devinn Lane.

I too was thinking of the poem from that movie.

Well... my reasoning was that 10 Things I Hate About You, is an adaptation of "The Taming Of The Shrew", by Shakespeare. I just assumed that the poem was part of the play and had been adapted into the movie version.

I just looked it up and can't seem to find anything like it from Shakespeare, though I did find the authors that are credited with the version in the movie here.

I have to say again though: Pocketcomb, that is an incredible adaptation. Made me smile reading it and made a friend of mine, who is a big Julie fan, laugh when I read it to him. Good job.

The irony here is stagering to me. I am a Julie fan and wrote the poem with nothing in mind but her. I have seen 10 Things... Matter of fact I used to live about a quarter mile from where they filmed the neiborhood shots for that movie.

I'm also a movie fan, but couldn't quote you a single line from the movie. I was going to make a poem a semi regular thread here, but I can see that it would not only be difficult to stay fresh, but it would quite oftem be likened to another parellel that I have not considered.

I'm glad you like Julie and the poem.

I too thought it was your personal take on the poem from 10 Things I Hate About You.
(For what it's worth - that poem is essentially a love poem from a girl who is hopelessly in love with a guy.)

Oh - and I really like the movie. It's the first time I saw Heath Ledger. I've seen it probably 10 times on DirecTV.

"I'm also a movie fan, but couldn't quote you a single line from the movie."

I can only quote one-

"I know you can be overwhelmed, and you can be underwhelmed. But can you just be whelmed?"

I always found that one oddly funny. And for some reason I just now thought of the great 10 Things parody in Not Another Teen Movie . Janie's got a gun indeed.

Okay,

My secret love for Ms. Meadows is starting to spiral south of where I planned it to be. I have found said poem, I have read said poem, and I assure you that mine is 100% original.

I will concede that the sentiment is the same. I don't hate Julie, infact she is on my all time top 5 list.

Excerpt from 10 things I Hate About You, copyright Buena Vista, 1999

"I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair. I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind. I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme. I hate it, I hate the way you're always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry. I hate it that you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call. But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all."

I'll close by saying that if my count is correct, I list 7 things that I hate about Julie, not 10. I also don't find much humor in the above soliloquy.

PCP is all about being original, but I will admit that this is not the first time my writting have been likened to Shakespear.

Hey Tricia -
Have you heard that Heath Ledger is going to be the Joker in the next Batman movie - 'The Dark Knight'.
