Any models or brands I should avoid? Thanks for whatever tips you can provide! Edited by - SaraJayFan on May 2 2007 [Link] |

Panasonic and Pioneer are the usual recommended brands. people need to be aware that our current(US)NTSC system will be shut down in 2009,that's why the new models coming out now have digital ATSC tuners, this is basically only an issue if you only watch over the air tv,if you have cable, satellite, etc. it won't affect you at all. reviews of the current entry level Panasonic, the ATSC tuner equipped EZ17,aren't that favorable,if you can find last year's ES15 at a discount,I'd go with that one-but remember that if you don't have cable, satellite, etc,it won't receive anything after Feb 2009. I have had zero reliability issues with the PYE PY90DG(made by Funai) sold at Circuit City, the user reviews are almost all highly favorable)its a good, basic dvd recorder. |
