Most consumers (ie guys) do not care for this so companies just don't put them in.

For too long, this double standard has been allowed to go unchallenged but I'm here to say it's time for straight porn to become a bit more progressive and representative. [Link] |

It doesn't mean you are like totally gay, but you may have bi-sexual tendencies; have you thought of that?I generally agree with Grouper. Porn industry is about supply and demand. I don't think it teaches anything or is homophobic; it just makes what majority of market wants. |

| Grouper Member 106 Posts 9/04 | Homophobia has nothing to do with it, but I am curious as to why gays would want to invade straight porn. |
| Renee Member 765 Posts 8/03 | arthur, if you want to see straight men in intimate contact with each other, watch any Double anal scene in a gonzo film. You'll see two men rubbing their privates together for minutes on end, albeit inside a woman's body. I figure, if the two men are already doing that much, they might as well go whole hog, and have sex with each other. Couple's films are somewhat odd to me - they're supposed to be for straight couples, yet a good deal of the footage is focused solely on the female performers' bodies, and too often those bodies have been surgically enhanced. I don't know that many straight women who enjoy gazing a a super slim woman with huge fake breasts. I suspect that there are plenty of men (i.e., Playboy readers) who do enjoy such sights. |
| croy Platinum Member Discovry 4574 Posts 3/04 | If men are the largest portion of the straight porn market, then most porn is aimed at getting their dollars. From my experience working in a store, the huge majority is indeed men. Are all men turned off by gay sex? No, but most straight men probably are. Some don't even like girl-girl scenes. I think many would be unpleasantly surprised by a gay sex scene. But the fact that transexual movies are also aimed at straight men says something. If there was a perceived demand for it, more movies like you want would be made. Its all about the money. |
| Linus TR fan Member 318 Posts 11/03 | Honestly I don't see what the trouble is, there is an abundance of Straight, gay, and BI porn, so buy what you like. I think the industry is very representative of what is in demand in this regard, the vast majority of the people I know can easily get what they want out of the above main three genres, I honestly do not believe there is an enormous amount of straight men out there that are just dieing to see some good male to male sex in thier regular porn movies. I also don't see there being a large number of the straight performers being in love with this idea either. I see no problems with any studio starting a line with these kinds of movies, I just do not think it belongs as more watering down of straight porn. It should be it's own genre is all I am saying. For me personally I just have a large problem with it even further destroying straight porn. I don't like Girl on Girl scenes one bit, and I don't think they belong in straight porn either, but if you have 1 girl/girl scene, and then you start including a male on male scene on top of it, now you completely no longer have straight porn, and at best you have maybe 3 watchable scenes in a flick. I'm not fucking paying 20 or 25 bucks for a disc with 35 minutes or more of completely unwatchable sex just because some people couldn't get off thier ass and buy a seperate genre of porn, that is my problem with it. I'm all for whatever someone wants to see in a porn, that is why I like all the seperated genres, but stop fucking with the genre I like, leave my straight porn alone and go get your own genre. |
| arthur Deactivated User 165 Posts 9/04 | As for the bi porn genre, come again? There is very little fresh bi porn product coming out of the States. I suspect it's partly due to the fact that the straight porn companies won't let their starlets work with bi guys. |
| Recondite2 Member United States of Debauchery 81 Posts 8/04 | I really don't think that it is the companies holding back their stars from performing in bi-porn, its the star themselves. They just aren't interested. Edited by - Recondite2 on 9/19/2004 1:08:30 AM |

This idea is a complete non-starter. As others have said, from an economic viability perspective, what you propose has no chance of making money, therefore no chance of getting made. In the practical sense, I can't imagine too many, if any, straight male performers would go for it, which means you want to import full gay scenes with gay actors into straight porn. I'd also agree with others that there would be little to no support for this among the straight male porn buying public. And even with the individual women who might have an interest in this, I think there would be far more who would be uncomfortable with it, or not care enough to make a difference. From a personal standpoint, I am also one of the ones that fast forwards through 95 percent of the girl-girl scenes in my straight porn, and from a purist point of view believes that that activity belongs in the gay porn rack.(Maybe I watch if BOTH girls are big favorites of mine for their heterosexual performances, and even then, I'm watching the lesbian scene while gritting my teeth in irritation that my favs are being employed this way. Same goes for two girl, one guy scenes, which I'm not particularly fond of either.) But, all the girls in straight porn pretty much do this, including all my favorites, and it's been that way forever, so i just shut up and go along with the program with the knowledge that the vast majority of productions is gonna have at least one scene that I'm not fond of. Male-male in a straight porn setting would be a deal breaker for me, and I feel on pretty solid ground opining that the overwhelming majority of straight males feels the same. BSD |
| croy Platinum Member Discovry 4574 Posts 3/04 | It is stereotyping of the highest order to assume gay men don't want to see straight sex or two hot women going at it. It would be more "progressive and representative". To make it more representative, the scene distribution should be equal to the percentage of the population that is straight, gay, lesbian, and bisexual. Since the largest percentage of the overall population is straight, most of the scenes in gay porn will now be boy/girl.

This is kind of a funny thread though you know, folks request scenes with a girl thrusting a thermos flask up her twat, 45 guys drenching some woman with cum, double, triple, penetration of every available orifice...someone asks for the possible inclusion of a guy on guy scene and kaboom! Heresy! And yes the "Couples" category of just about any major dvd retailer is a baffling place. Edited by - Loraine on 9/19/2004 4:00:45 AM |

Couldn't get what you wanted to hear in another popular message forum, so you decided to foist your views on this one. Again, what did you get? Well, you got one person telling you "just you hide and watch" and a whole bunch of other people telling you that no matter what your personal views were on the topic, they were off-base and that most men really *didn't* care to see male/male action in their "straight" porn. And once again, you are missing the fucking point. Your big complaint here isn't really with the straight porn industry. Your big complaint is with the people who put out Bi vids. I think you should be talking to *them* about upping their output. But no...it's all the straight segment's fault, and PORN is a stellar teacher. LMFAO Yeah, cuz we all get our lessons about life, prejudice, and sexual predilection from porn's teaching. It has NOTHING to do with how we're born and raised. Of course not. And again, once people posted things that you had no comeback for, you shut up. Pattern? Yes. Intriguing? No. The majority of straight porn as we know it is marketed to men because they're the ones that buy it. There are a few companies (more and more) who are making movies truly aimed at women who want their own porn with good-looking guys who don't have beer guts or assne. There are, it's true, more and more women buying porn and with that trend comes a few people who are willing to cater to that. Because those women are showing their cash in real numbers. You, on the other hand, are one person who has decided that since you can't have it all in one movie you're gonna blame the *straight* porn industry when it's really the bi industry that's let you down. Look, killer. Either whinge to the people who make Bi porn and call them out on their pitiful release schedule, or make your own damn bi porn (or whatever your vision is) and experience the challenges that acompany that task first-hand, or go back to your therapist so you can cry about your newly validated persecution complex and s/he can up your meds. |
