As far as I know, this is Stormy's second movie as a director, following "One Night In Vegas". Oddly, both of them are bachelorette party-themed, though this one also cross-cuts with the groom's bachelor party. While I thought "Vegas" was good for an apparently low-budget, first-time effort, I thought "Second Thoughts" was good period.

Pros: Excellent writing (also by Stormy), with very effective humor that doesn't depend on timing and jokes but instead on situations. Some of the cuts between the bachelorette party and the bachelor party are well-planned and really funny.

*Good cast. Keri Sable is really beautiful here. This is one reason I like features -- her wardrobe is plausibly real-life (not too porno) but really sexy. Michelle Lay does great with the "librarian" look, playing the part of the prudish girl. Austin Kincaid is kind of new to me, but she reminds me of Sydnee Steele in an unobvious way.

*The sex scenes are pretty hot. Michelle Lay in particular gets a nice working-over from Randy Spears, and the bachelor party antics are impressive. Especially by Wicked standards, Stormy really brought some nasty to the table: Tory Lane takes a visually interesting speculum+vibrator violation from fellow stripper Lexi Lamour, then follows up with a vigorous four-man blowbang scene that leaves her totally drenched by three, with the fourth load going down the hatch.

Cons: Just little quibbles. Sometimes I hate when porn actresses have non-sex parts, because it's a tease. When I see Gia Jordan show up in a movie, I start looking forward to her sex scene. She's just comic relief here, dang it.

*Michelle Lay has a scene at the bar where her uptight character gets drunk and loosens up in a comic way. It seems like a missed opportunity not to have her in another sex scene there. I guess we don't want to encourage fucking while impaired, though.

Bottom line: Recommended on pretty much all levels.

I just reviewed this one. Second Thoughts

I couldn't agree more with Obibong. I really really enjoyed it. Michelle does an excellent job, both with her sex scene and her acting role. The movie is funny, and Stormy is directing some of the best sex scenes that Wicked has produced in the last year.

Bravo to her for such a fun, sexy and well directed movie.

I have this one on my desk right now and am really looking forward to it. I was going to do it next week, but with Marie Madison closing down I think it's pushed back to the following week...

Yeah, we're on the same page again. Man, you're just snapping up the Wicked discs now, aren't you? Total conversion to The Feature Side.

Outwardly there wasn't much that made me want to see this. It wasn't one of their hyped-up releases, I wasn't familiar with Austin -- nothing about it really drew me in. But it's just really good, and it'll end up as one of my top 3 of the year, I'm sure.

Yeah. I don't know. I just can't stand what's happening in most American "gonzo" right now. Mind you I still do watch some selected stuff, but when it comes to reviewing, it's more fun to review features. It's just more interesting than the same ol' same ol' "they're havin' sex again" blah. :) It gets me off, but it's generally not so much fun to write about anymore.

I may sometimes find Wicked's sex a little less adventurous than I'd like, but damn do the girls look good, and at least I don't feel like slitting my wrists after I'm finished watching it.

Anyway, that's the "conversion" story for ya. It's not total, though. I'm still finding plenty to like in some of the crazier stuff out there. "Buttman Comics: Vault of Whores" from Evil Angel is gonna get a review once I get my hands on it, and I'm even somewhat addicted to GGG now.... ::devlish smile:: I'm far from reformed yet...

But yes, I really feel like we should get the word out on Second Thoughts . I agree with you that it might be among the best feature oriented releases this year. I want Stormy and Wicked to be encouraged by its success.

That's funny. Because it's also why I find it more interesting to watch. I mean, I've seen Keri Sable a dozen times in gonzo stuff, but for me, this movie gave me more -- first you see her in a normal situation in normal clothes, and you don't get to see her naked and having sex for an hour or so. You have some time to anticipate it, while continuing to note how hot she looks in her dialogue scenes. That's better tease than a floor's-eye view of fishnets.

I do think Wicked is still doing the best work overall, but eventually we'll have to steer you toward selected Digital Playground and maybe even -- gasp -- Vivid flicks.

Yeah, not every feature has to be "Pirates" -- which I did enjoy a heck of a lot -- to be great. If you put enough care into a little movie, it will turn out better than the big-production Eternities and Cuddly Pines. IMO.

Hey guys! Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement! I worked very hard to make the movie good and bring the sex to another level. I was more than a little disappointed when it started to look like this one was going to slip through the cracks because of all the big releases. I was afraid my efforts (I wrote, directed, and art directed) were going to go unnoticed.
I really have to thank my cast on this one. Keri had never really done any dialogue before and I thought she did an amazing job. She was very easy to direct. Same goes to Austin and Michelle. I couldn't have asked for better girls. The three of them nailed the kitchen dialogue scene (about the margaritas) in ONE take. It was a three page scene!!! I was floored :)
FYI: My next release is "Private Eyes" starring Felecia Fox and it will be out next month. I also direct (and STAR) in my fourth one in two weeks. It's titled "Three Wishes".

Saw that DVD dirt cheap (10 Australian dollars) in a local sex shop, might buy it if it's still there next time I visit.

Hey Everyone! Hey Stormy...looks like we are BOTH spending our Friday night at the computer! LOL Could we be more of a geek? LOL
I snagged one of those "preview/time coded" tapes from Wicked about 2 weeks before the actual release...I just couldn't wait! It was pretty fuckin' funny! I think I was laughing, MORE, because I knew what went on BEHIND THE SCENES, as oppossed to the stuff the viewers actually saw! It was a lot of fun, yet VERY professional, of a set to have worked on AND I had forgotten just how hard Randy & I were fucking...we broke a condom, remember????
Hope to see you around and work with you again!
XOXO,
Michelle Lay

Everyone be sure to check out MASAMUNE's review of Second Thoughts as well. It's more well-deserved praise for a really good movie.

Happened to see a poster from some Queen Latifah movie out on the street. Instant recognition from me.

But "Second Thoughts" came out first. Wicked should sue!

Wow, not only did I not remember the "Runaway Bride" poster, I never noticed the sneakers on the "Second Thoughts" cover. I guess my eyes were drawn elsewhere.

I'd still take Austin Kincaid over the Julia-o-lantern.

dood. i saw the queen latifah movie poster in the mall yesterday and laughed. i mean it was dead on.

for my site i usually make banners whenever stormy has a new flick out and i know the fonts and that shit stopped me dead in my tracks....

but in all honesty, a lot of wicked's recent covers are done by an outside source, who pretty much knock off mainstream movie covers...

take a look at the "private eyes" cover which is a nod to "Sin city"

"erotik" is a lift of "memories of a geisha"

and so on....i mean it's one thing to notice the Camp Cuddly fonts are from Rocky Horror, but when it gets to straight mimicking...

Christian Struzan & his company XL are the ones who now do their covers so if in the near future you see direct relations between whatever random mainstream movie and fourthcoming wicked dvds...ya know why.

with 3 wishes coming out soon, any guesses on what Devil/Angel mainstream movie get's mirrored?

Packaging issues aside, I have to say I loved SECOND THOUGHTS. I really think it was Wicked's strongest for the year, and would have like to have seen it receive a bit more critical acclaim. Perhaps it was overshadowed by the September blockbusters. And then again, perhaps I'm just biased. :-)

I loved seeing Gia Jordan in a non-sex role. I can understand the criticism that some people felt they were set up for a sex scene that never materialized, but I still thought it was a nice touch. It reminded me of those classic "Golden Age" adult shows were actresses like Veronica Hart were often cast strictly to add dramatic depth to a story.

I can't wait to see what Stormy does next.

I agree, easily one of the best feature films of last year that sadly got overlooked way too much. With the job she did on both One Night in Vegas and Second Thoughts I'm definitely keeping an eye out for anything else she does from the director's chair!
