Who submits the scene indexes? Is there a form that one can fill out and submit them?

There's a spot on each title page with "Submit Corrections" where you can let them know.

Thanks for your interest.
Just fill in these basics (or as many of them as you can).
Send your contribution to: iafd@rame.net

If we already have a movie and/or performer listed, do as astroknight suggested and click on the "Submit Corrections" button included on every page.
Remember, you obviously can't do this if you're submitting a completely new movie listing to the database.

Title

Year: xxxx (note the 2257 date(s) if you don't know the release date)
Distributor: xxx
Director: xxx
Minutes: xxx minutes
Compilation: No (or yes)
All-Girl: No (or yes)

Actresses List:

List names exactly (including typos) as billed in the movie.
Often, a girl will be billed with a single name in the opening title sequence, but will have her more complete name on the boxcover and/or end credits.
If you know the "billed as name" to be an AKA, and believe you know her more popular accepted name, let us know.
We list these girls as "Actress (as AKA)."
The "(as AKA)" is the name billed as in the movie.
Examples:
"Jessi Castro (as Tiger)"
"Jasmine (as Skyla)"
"Aria (as Marie Silva)"
"Daisy Dukes (as Melissa Milano)"
You get the idea :)

If you want to, you can tell us what special sex acts the girl performs. Look at the top of any performer's page and you will see which acts these are.
We list these as, for example: [Anal DP Facial Swallow, etc.]

Finally, it's very helpful if you tell us which performer in our database you believe someone to be.
Telling us "Monica" is almost useless.
Instead, search through our listed performers and tell us which "Monica" it is by copying the URL on her page and including it with your submission.
Example:
Monica
http://www.iafd.com/person.asp?perfid=Monica00&gender=F

(Note: we have about 3,500 headshot pics now to aid in identifying performers... not for this Monica yet :)

Actors List:

Scenes:

If you don't know the male talent's name (typically the case), we indicate the number of "guys" performing with the girl(s).
Example:
"Cindy Crawford, Guy"
"2 Guys, Jane Darling"

Scene 1:

Scene 2:

Scene 3:

Scene 4:

Scene 5:

etc.

The other IAFD Admins have asked me to include the following request:

When submitting biographical information on performers (i.e. birthday, height, weight, figure stats, etc.), PLEASE include your source for the information.

There's a LOT of bad biographical information out there being passed around the Internet like a Christmas fruitcake.
Since the IAFD is such a widely-used and respected porn database resource, we don't want to be passing bad information into the mix. Many sites pick up information from one another and it makes the rounds endlessly.
Bad stats are, unfortunately, never purged from the Internet community

Pet peeve..

I have submitted a number of updates/corrections over the last few years, some of them on multiple occasions.
I occasionally get an acknowledgement that the update was received, but it seems that many/most of them have gone into a black hole..

Sometimes I see a partial update, such as merging two listings together, but I still see blatant errors such as duplicate listings for the same video, with one listing being a typo, or a nonexistent performer alias that I was able to trace to a typo on a video retailer's website, that never seem to go away. (or at least seem to take forever.. the duplicate listing I mentioned finally appears to have been corrected, after being reported both by email, and via the new reporting system.)

Example: before the listings were merged, Bambi Bliss had two listings, one with an alias of HeaTHER St. Claire, and the other with an alias of HeaVEN St. Claire. All except one
listing under the BB/HeaTHER listing were credited as BB, and the exception appeared to be credited as HeaVEN St. Claire.

I did a search, and the only reference I could find to that video, and HeaTHER St Claire was a typo on a single video retailer site (I seem to recall that the typo was only on the listing for the VHS, and not for the DVD, but I could be wrong..) The boxcover lists her as HeaVEN..

The listings have now been merged under Jenna Brooks, but the HeaTHER St. Claire alias lives on, and has expanded to even more listings, probably as a result of the merge.

I just walked the listings, and came up with the following errors..

Real College Girls 8 - listed in IAFD as HeaTHER, reviews imply that credit should be HeaVEN. Boxcover has no credits.

Strap-on Soul Sisters 12 - listed in IAFD as HeaTHER, boxcover says HeaVEN. I think this was the one I noticed to begin with.

New X-Rated Sistas - listed in IAFD as HeaTHER, actual credit Bambi Bliss (I have DVD).

Cum Dumpsters 2 (and 3) - listed in IAFD as HeaTHER, actual credit Bambi Bliss (as with ALL of her early RLD titles.)

Brand New - listed in IAFD as HeaVEN, actual credit Bambi Bliss (DVD)(RLD)

White Dicks, Black Chicks 1 - listed in IAFD as HeaTHER, actual credit Bambi Bliss. (DVD)(RLD)

Wild Cherries 2 - credits are correct, boxcover link is to the same title (but different film) from a different distributor.

I know you folks are volunteers, but so am I, and resubmitting updates multiple times with no feedback/action whatsoever is a waste of time for all of us.

I'd like to see some form of ticketing system, where we get an auto-ack with a tracking number, and a way of following up on submissions. Either that, or some form of feedback that the submission was received, and feedback on why a particular update was not applied.

The old way the updates were done:

User A would e-mail the updates and either I or Peter would get to them. The inbox is about 1400 messages deep and I have yet to dig out. Some updates go back years and have not been done due to the sheer number of them. Othertimes I would make a change and due to the way Peter processed updates, they would be inadvertantly overwritten by an update.

How its done now:

Use submits a correction via a button which drops it into a queue which is monitored by 6 people who make the corrections as they come in. So far, knock wood, we've been able to keep up with the corrections usually the same day. Since we are no longer writing batch updates into the DB, there's no risk of corrections being inadvertanly overwritten.

As far as a ticketing system for corrections goes -- I'd love to do it, but it's just not feasible right now. If there are any developers out there who want to volunteer to help implement one, contact me off-list and we'll go from there. Plus, the IMDB doesn't tell me when its made my corrections, so if it's good enough for them... :-)

Thanks for your comments.

P.S. Thank you for your comments re: Bambi/Jenna/Heather -- they've been straighted out as per your comments.

I just wish that the girls could choose an original name (first and last)and stick with it.
I clicked on 'Submit Corrections' about a week ago under Brianna Love, and reported that she is in Sean Michael's 'Rocks That Ass #25'. I still don't see it. Rather than type out all the info, I gave a link to a similar site with info on the movie.

(just trying to help--not bitchin)

I just checked this out.
On 6/19, you sent your correction in. Actually, two corrections.

The Manuel Ferrara's POV 2 was taken care of.

The Rocks That Ass #25 correction could not be acted on YET because we don't have that title in our database YET.
We DO have the Rocks That Ass series titles 1 through 24 though

Remember everyone, we do not enter individual scenes into our database. Rather, we enter complete movies one-at-a-time.
The credits on the performer's pages get created (i.e. generated) from the movie information we enter.

Thanks, Bob. Is that an acceptable way to submit additions? The most common thing I catch are titles missing from a star's listing. Your site is quite useful, so I would like to help when I can.

Thank you for being so constructive.

The best thing you can do, when you notice that titles are missing from a performer's page, is to check to see if we have the movie the scene comes from listed in our database yet.

If we do have the movie title listed, simply click on either the performer's or movie's "Submit Corrections" button and tell us what's missing.

If we don't have the movie listed yet, you can still click on the performer's "Submit Corrections" button and tell us... but please be sure to point out that you couldn't find the movie listing either.

If you have access to the movie, it would be very helpful if you would provide us with the information as I explained in my first post in this topic.
